Q: I'm looking to raise Earth worms here. Any suggestions.

I used bagged castings when starting my bin. Mixed it coco coir and peat moss at a 1. 1. 1. Ratio. I then mixed in some torn up cardbord, moistened to field capacity and let it sit for a week. I then dropped in a couple dozen red wigglers from the bait store and the worms dug right in. None have tried to escape. I now feed them kitchen scraps as they need.

The worms are fed a proprietary mix of organic alfalfa meal and grain. Unlike some competitor's products, no manure or consumer waste is used in the production of Brut Worm Castings. Q: How much worm castings do i use in a five gallon pail with peat moss perlite and verticulite

Brut recommends that worm castings make up 10% to 15% by volume of a good soil blend. Therefore, if you wanted to end up with five gallons, you want about 2-3 quarts of worm castings. You may want to try a bag of Brut Super Soil (also available on Amazon) which is Brut's attempt at the best soil available.

I don't know about cubic feet but the label on the bag indicates that to cover an area you 20 pounds per 100 square feet
