Right you are. It is *not* the "same 1928 recipe " When they say it has "The same great flavor you remember as a kid," they're not talking to people who remember a world before HFCS.

If you were to re create a horror scene in the shower, would this be useful for fake blood in Black and white?

Alfred Hitchcock reportedly used Bosco as fake blood in the shower scene of his movie, "Psycho."

Does your 'original' have the malt and vanilla or, like several other 'originals' I've purchased, it is the new formula and does not? Big difference!!

The one I have in the stock, doesn't have malt or vanilla.

How does this compare to Hersheys Chocolate Syrup?

In my personal opinion, Bosco chocolate syrup is so much better than Hershey's in terms of flavor. Hard to explain the difference other than it just tastes better to me.

Bosco packs the lbs. for the kids!

My 9 year old needs to gain weight and definitely needs to drink more milk. He has a terrible appetite as well. I remember as a kid a long time ago my uncle turned me on to Bosco syrup. I remember being like, what is this? I use Hershey's! The thick Bosco syrup used to come packaged in a wide mouth glass bottle. It made great chocolate milk. Takes longer to dilute it in milk than Hershey's.Turns out a doctor created it to help young kids pack on some pounds. Bosco has vitamin B2, B3 & B6 to help stimulate the appetite. I can't say my son has gained a bunch of weight yet, but he looks forward to drinking milk at dinner time which is a plus. Bosco is no longer packaged in a glass bottle, but it still tastes really good. We told his pediatrician we started him on the Bosco regimen and he chuckled and said it's been a long time since he heard that. Said go ahead and see how it goes, if it works it's better than prescribing something. We have our fingers crossed.

A great memory rediscovered

I haven't had this since I was a kid! When I stumbled across this I HAD to purchase it!! I shared it with my 3 kids (33, 29, 18), and they all looked at me like I was crazy. My daughter said "Dad, it tastes like Hershey's?" I looked at her and took her glass back!!! :-) My two son's (33 & 18) burst out laughing!!!
