Ford 429/460 Engines: How to Rebuild (Workbench How-to)

I bought this book because it was about rebuilding the Ford 429/460 with a chapter devoted to the Boss 429. I was very dissapointed to find that the Boss 429 chapter (the reason I bought it) had nothing to do with rebuilding it, was full of mistakes and typos and was nothing more than the typical repackaged bashing of a great race AND street engine. Its obvious the author has no actual driving experience with the Boss 429 Mustang.If your looking for info on rebuilding the Ford 429/460 I suggest getting the Ford V8 book Tom Moroe (much more detailed). If you are looking for a book on rebuilding the Boss 429 or Boss 429 facts, don't buy this one!

Book has good info, but didn’t have the info I was looking for the 460 that was put into my 64 F100

Excellent book for the Fomoco Fans, Great reliable in-depth source,pictures and other information I did not know, not a ford fan myself but enjoyed learning about the 429 and 460. If you are rebuilding yours I highly recommend it!

What a great book & reference manual! They included what you would expect from a Workbench Series book – history and evolution of the 385 series, disassembly and machine work, etc…. Additionally they showed over 600 color photos, details about the reassembly and improving performance, plus they went into the finer points like ring gaps and how to degree the cam. Excellent book!

Perfect book for a stock rebuild! If you plan on rebuilding a 385 series engine then you need this book
