Best book ever!
This is the best book I ever bought! Rose gives such a good explanation to every single detail important to make fantastic cakes and fillings. The base formulas help you to make the size cakes you want. Clear charts are always present true this book, to calculate yourself what you want to make.Every recipe is detailed and clear. The theoretic information is such a great value to understand the why's and the how's of cake making and baking. Rose even mentioned the 'cups', 'ounce' and 'metric', so where ever you live, you can use this book. I couldn't miss this book any longer, I would put it under my pillow to sleep with. I can imagine that for a home baker (hobby) it would seem difficult at first sight, but if you take some time to read it again and again, it such a pleasure to learn all about it. As a professional baker in Belgium, I learned alot about cakes bacause of this fantastic book. In our schools here, we do not learn much about all those kinds of cake and fillings. It really is a must have if you are a baker, cake decorator, and you want to serve quality cake to your clients! I tried alot recipes yet, and they all turned out great like they were supposed to be. (not like some books were you make the recipe and the result is a disaster according to the nice pictures next to the recipe) This book does not have lots of modern pictures, but that gives me trust that it is a professional book and not for selling the pictures only. Thank you Rose!!!

simply a treasure!
I love this book!its called the cake bible for a very good reason. Although there arent many photos , the ones provided are simply out of this world . The book will suit anyone as the author uses the international measures.Plenty of baking tips, recipies and I believe everything related to the art of baking ,and needed for a professional or advanced baker.All the recipies are very well and clearly explained despite their lenght and in some cases lack of photo .Because of this clarity I believe that even a beginner in the baking department should not be discouraged : ).Highly recommended if you ve got a passion and a patience for cakes.

Understanding cake making
This is the book for you if you want to understand the chemistry of cake-making. If you are the sort of cake-baker who likes to fiddle with recipes, Rose Berebaum has been there before you. Invaluable guidance on increasing and decreasing the size of a recipe, as well where to buy difficult to find items. After 15 years of owning this book it is still my best bedside read. If you follow her (prescise) instructions you can't fail to produce fabulous cakes. Not aimed at the beginner but it will take you through to the heights of cake-making.

Great book. Thread carefully.
Its a very enlightening book. I own a cake business in Ireland. So beware of cake flour. Europeans this book is of no use to you. Genuinely. Unless you can make the cake flour substitute which takes time don't bother. European plain flour will not work in these recipe . Don't let anyone tell you any different. Your cakes will sink from too much liquid. Americans. This is your gospel and sermon. Its a great insight into how ingredients and how they react with one another. Its a study book. Not a glance and bake. You can't just jump into recipes without doing some of the reading.

I was hyperventilating when it came through the post!! I'm so excited about reading it and trying recipes from this amazing book.I've only started reading some of it and it's fantastic!! It's more like an encyclopaedia!

The Cake Bible
I bought this book, because I love baking and decorating cakes, and on many of the websites I visited for inspiration "The Cake Bible" name cropped up, after reading other reviews I decided to go ahead and buy it. It walks you through the recipes, so anyone should be able to make them. As yet I have not tried them all, the ones I have always turn out good. I love the technicality behind the recipes, I am technically minded as far as cake making goes, and I also love tweeking recipes and ending up with superb results.I was so exited when the book was delivered, I sat and read it through straight away.Definitely inspirational. The only downside, I think more pictures would have been beneficial, this would certainly have helped the beginner in the art of cake baking. But on second thoughts the book would have been super heavy with all the extra pages.I will certainly be looking at other Titles by the same author.
