Rustic Mantel Shelf, Silverwood, 48", Fireplace Mantel Floating Shelves

Ok everyone, I don't usually write reviews but I just had to let everyone know about this unbelievable Fireplace Mantle, it is just incredible!It comes packed in a really nice super heavy duty box and it comes with three screws to fasten it to your existing mantle or you can just screw a 2x4 to your wall and hang it that way too.Take a close look at our generic mantle that a lot of people have in their home, This mantle just fit perfectly over our mantle and I screwed it in place in about 2 minutes flat and I am not kidding.I stood back and looked at my install and I could not believe my eyes, I could not stop looking at this beautiful transformation the entire day, I could not believe I did this in 2 minutes!!I purchased the 9 inch and it is just incredible, we have never seen anything like this that you could buy so inexpensive and make such a major statement in your home!Dogberry is the best company out there so don't look any further.Even the screw holes are pre-drilled and counter sunk so that the screws provided fit flush with the mantle.We love this amazing Fireplace Mantle, thank you Dogberry for your beautiful workmanship and super sase of installation!

I was very nervous about making this purchase based off the mixed reviews I read, but I'm glad I made this purchase. This is a very nice mantle and WELL worth the price, so don't be concerned. The installation was extremely easy; you just screw in the support beam to your studs in your wall and then attach the mantle with 4 little screws. It's very sturdy and I have 3 components and some nick-nacks with no issue. I chose the aged oak color and when I first opened the box, I thought I had received a defective piece because the top and bottom are very well stained and nice, but the front of the mantle is made to look rough. Once I hug it up, I actually loved the rough looking front and it gives it a realistic rough cut wood look.

Very disappointed in my grey mantle. It looked nothing like the picture. The color is not the same. There was a weird grey/blue staining on the front. If it looked like the top of the mantle I would have kept it. I requested another mantle via exchange and hope that this is just a fluke. You can even see hand prints on the insides. Very careless work. I wish I could have contacted the seller to see if this is indeed what they intended to send me, but my contractor is on a time constraint. Frustrating.

Installed this item as a floating shelf. The depth is great for some of our larger pieces, like lighted Christmas cottages. Finish is good, but seems slightly lighter than it appeared in the photos when I ordered. All wood construction with hollow interior. Easy to install, and sturdy.

This is, if you don't already know, faux reclaimed wood. It is five pieces of "damaged" cheap wood pieced together that is then stained and polyed. NOW, having said that, it is really nice. Despite what it actually is, it is well crafted and looks pretty authentic unless you tell your guests your dirty secret. It hangs on the wall really easy too as long as you know what a stud is and how to find them!I have a few minor issues with this. The first is that the "damage" repeats, almost as if it comes off an assembly line, which it might. I ordered the 72" and the damage is pretty much mirrored from the halfway point. It's not too noticeable but its hardly random damage that you would find on real reclaimed wood. Also it doesn't look aged. Just beat up and stained. That is another issue I had. The color doesn't quite match the picture and is much lighter and dull. I remedied this by using a Poly Shade (which you need to use since you can't stain over the polyurethane). I used one coat of 'Mission Oak' and it made a world of a difference!Now, this maybe something that a DIYer could make over the weekend. There isn't much to it and there are plenty of vids out there that will show you how to make one of these yourself and, it would be a cool project, but if you don't have the time, patience, or desire to do it on your own, why not relax and pay someone else to make it for you?

WOW WOW WOW! This experience was incredible! I mistakingly bought the wrong size and the customer service was amazing! They let me ship it back for free and we had our new one 2 days later! It went up like a breeze and we love that it’s hollow so there’s not so much weight up there!It’s incredibly handcrafted, the stain is amazing, the product is so great we will never go anywhere else for a mantel! The people who created this product take pride in what they do and you can tell by this quality piece of art! Can’t wait to have this in our home for years and years to come!

This was better than I expected. I appreciated the fast shipping. Its beautiful and I get lots of compliments on it.
