Real food that puppies love not mush
I adopted two small mixed breed puppies from a rescue. We tried several different high end brands of puppy food but Merrick was what they preferred. Our previous pets,, both beagles, also preferred Merrick. The ingredients are in small chunks but recognizable, not just an extruded mush. The puppies like the texture, taste & smell and I like the wholesome ingredients. The quality of their coat has improved in the month they've been eating the Merrick food.Splitting a can between the puppies along with 1/2 cup each of the Merrick small breed Chicken & Sweet potato dry food is their favorite dinner.

Pup only loves on the first day opened
I was using this as a kibble topper for my puppy but it takes us a couple days to get through a can that way. My pup only likes it right when we open it. To be fair, she hates pates (understandably) and this is more food-like.

Vet did not recomend because of grain free
Good quality except no grain .The vet told us puppies need grain in their diet.

Gravy and chunks
My puppy has allergies so I have been trying different brands with no chicken. He loves this food!! I tried a couple others, he didn't like them. Tulo was dry, I had to add olive oil to it just to get it to mix with kibble. I found his food!

Poor QUALITY!
I've been purchasing my puppy's pet food from either Petco or PetSmart for the past month. I saw it was cheaper on Amazon and placed my order without looking at reviews because I trusted the brand since I've never had issues with quality from the cans I've bought before. When I got my order I was super excited because it's my puppy's favorite food. I open the can and immediately I notice the difference. The smell was off, the can wasn't filled to the top, the meat looked pale and my puppy wouldn't even lick the food much less eat it. I was in complete shock because I know what these cans are supposed to look like. I immediately check the reviews and see that this is a common issue. Just to prove my point I drove to PetSmart and bought 4 cans from them (all they had in stock) to compare it to the cans I bought from Amazon. The can from PetSmart was full to the top, dark color, smelled very much like meat, and my puppy devoured that food. Please if you purchase this food pay close attention to the quality you wouldn't want your pet to get sick because a company has a very big issue with quality control. I am going to start looking for a different brand entirely I can't trust Merrick after this!

Not just slop
I like Merrick’s wet food, it is less offensive than other brands that look like compact slop. My puppy eats anything and everything but it’s less offensive for me! Chunks of meat, gravy, little pieces of carrots… I am ok with paying a little more. Merrick has some great treats too, I like this brand. For kibble, I do use another brand (vet approved) for the price point only.
