It's okay, but not low-cost enough to justify over better brand
It works, you can set bearings, it's high viz. But it's not going to last a lifetime for a regular user like a hunter or a scout. If you have a loss-prone youth, this might be a good buy as it's 1/2 the price of a quality compass and is 100% functional. I did not love the feel of it and don't expect a long life from it. I've owned many compasses over time, this is not in the top 10.If I were to do it over, I'd spend $10 more for a Silva Explorer 2.0
