I do regret that people who listen to this music don't post reviews for it. They would more than likely be almost if not all five star. This first effort from this very young pianist is one great listen. The thing that may stand out for some is how he is as a pianist, more or less in the background, part of the rhythm section and n't trying to steal the show. Because he does have some great players here, one being the great Chris Potter who lights the tracks up with his Joe Hemdersonic flare. But all that one could really say about this collection is that it is very well executed music, very sensitive and touching as well as invegerrating So check it out. Then go on Amazon and help spread the news of another up and coming bluenote artist.

This is one of those debut albums that defines a new giant on the scene, like Roy Hargrove's "Diamond in the Rough" or Christian McBride's "Getting' to It". James Francies is a master of the keys but so much more. His unerring lyrical sense, his grounding in multiple traditions, his effortless flying over the keys, his huge new sound, are worth a listen. So spend your money, support this guy!

Wonderful, sophisticated album from a 22 year old. Songs have so much depth to them, it's hard to believe that he is so young.
