Organic Tempeh,Organic Fermented Whole Soya Beans, 6 x 400g

No way of returning food - but it gave me gastrointestinal sickness and diarrhoea. Like others have said I’ve had tempeh before. It tasted ok but made me unwell!

This is the first time I have eaten tempeh so I have nothing to compare it to (apart from tofu) and I really enjoyed it. I prefer it to tofu and its lovely marinaded in olive oil and tamari sauce with a stir fry. Super healthy and very quick to produce. The person moaning about the weight being misleading has too much time on their hands. The jar is crammed full of tempeh and its more than enough for one person to last two or three days. Considering you "only" get 175g of tempeh per jar as opposed to the 400g with water the price is very reasonable. I would recommend.

Amazon is the perfect place for making purchases of this particular Tempeh, good prices & long shelf life of product too. By the way, because Tempeh is pickled in unsalted water within a glass jar, you don't experience the horrible taste of ammonia, as with fresh Tempeh !

Original review 16th March 2019: I will be complaining to Amazon, because it is sold as 6 x 400g of tempeh, but in fact each jar contains only 175g of tempeh and 225g of water! Nowhere on this page is this made clear, and the photos of the label show you almost the entire label EXCEPT the place where it says "175g drained weight". This this is being sold under totally false pretences on Amazon. Update 6th April 2019: So I talked to Amazon about this at some length and they agreed that it was very misleading. They said they would contact the seller and tell them the information must be corrected. But so far they appear to have done NOTHING AT ALL! Update 8th August 2019: Still no change, and another customer has also pointed out the nutrition information can't be accurate. To the reviewer below who argues the jar is crammed full of tempeh and it doesn't matter what the weight is, I am not quite sure why they are happy to get less than half of what they paid for. In fact it is crammed full of water.

Love the product but some jars always arrive leaking. That`s the only reason I`ve knocked a star off.

Great taste and is a good substitute in foods! This was very flavoursome and is great for the price as I've found it hard to find this in the usual shops! I will definitely buy again!

I ordered 6 bottles.. The information on the side of the bottle says dry weight 400gm but both of the 1st 2 bottles i used contained no more than 200gm dry weight...! Can you explain why please?

Tempeh is a delicious and nutritious product which can be prepared in a variety of ways (frying works well for me). However, it should be a simple point of logic that if you pack 6 heavy jars containing liquid tight up against each other with no padding between them, and only one layer of bubblewrap surrounding the whole package, something is bound to go horribly wrong. Twice I ordered the six-pack of jars, and twice it arrived with half the jars shattered, glass fragments contaminating the product and liquid spilling everywhere. I'm astonished that the company didn't learn something from the first situation and get their product appropriately protected to withstand the rigours of transport. This will also apply to their jars containing tofu, by the way - buyer beware.

Produkt ist in Ordnung, aber der Preis/Kg grenzt an Betrug, da er sich auf das Füllgewicht mit Wasser bezieht, nicht auf die Nettoeinwaage. Auch ist fraglich, ob sie Verpackung im Glas mit 200ml+wirklich die umweltfreundlichere ist.
