Cocoweb High Powered, dimmable, LED Floor Lamp - FLED-GPS (Mahogany Bronze)

I have been looking for a while for a decent lamp to light sheet music while playing piano. I previously bought a LED floor lamp, but it was not ideal as it did not extend far enough to illuminate the sheet music resting on the middle of the piano. I saw this Cocoweb on Amazon the last few searches, but avoided purchasing as I thought I could buy a comparable lamp for less money. After searching music stores, I realized that the price for this lamp was actually much cheaper compared to typical lamps used for grand pianos. So, I pulled the trigger and ordered this. I have to say, this lamp has exceeded my expectations and was worth every penny. The construction is solid, the aesthetics are pleasing, it's easy to adjust the positioning of the lamp head, the wide LED strip extends far enough toward the center of the piano and beautifully illuminates the music stand and keys. The rotary dimmer control on the lamp body is perfect positioned - much better than the touch-dimmers typically used. My only regret is I didn't buy this lamp years ago!

This floor lamp has proven to be the perfect answer for lighting the baby grand piano I recently inherited. The adjustable light is wonderful and I love the sleek design, so much better than other, clunkier choices I considered buying. This lamp is expensive, but worth it. Putting it together, for the most part, was easy, but the base is very difficult to join with the pole. Somehow, after several tries at lining up the two screws with the base, I somehow managed to do it by myself, but I recommend you have another person on hand for this last step. If for some reason the LED fixture fails to work in the future, I will revisit this review. For now, though, I love the lamp and may buy another for reading. Great look.

My review is for the floor lamp model. I believe it will work very well for my needs. Its seems well constructed, has nice features, and has excellent illumination. It assembled easily, although care should be taken to properly align the parts, and not damage the threads or screw heads.To my eyes, the color appears to be close to that of a warm white incandescent bulb. I much prefer this over cooler color lighting. The manufacturer rates it at 2700K, CRI 90. I also really like the continuously adjustable dimming feature.For the light to be centered over middle C, the lamp post must be positioned just in front of the piano, and immediately to the left of the lowest A. This gives even lighting to the music and keyboard, with no annoying shadows. I tried positioning the post and base just to the left of the piano, and did not like the lighting at all.I have an upright piano, and I like to have the top board open when I play, to enhance the sound. A typical piano lamp that sits on top of the piano does not have a long enough reach to properly light the music and keyboard. This one should work fine.At the time of writing this, there are several errors in the advertised features. A sticker on the lamp base, and writing on the box state this lamp was made in Taiwan. The weight of the entire lamp is just over eight pounds. The post does not fasten at the center of the base, but close to its edge, resulting in a very stable lamp. There are three points of adjustability, which are sufficient. The on/off switch is built into the dimming rheostat at the top of the post. Dimensions can be judged from my photo.My only real concern is for the reliability of the LED assembly. When I first plugged in the lamp and turned it on, it would flash as I adjusted the dimmer, then go off when I would stop turning it. I turned it off, then tried again, with the same thing happening. I turned it off and came back after a while, and it worked fine. I used it several hours later yesterday, and it worked fine. It’s OK today. If it happens again, I will be contacting Cocoweb.

This is our second piano lamp from this maker. I'm a piano teacher. I'm also going blind slowly, so good lighting means more to me than it does to almost anyone else. I've been through three lamps in the past year trying to find lamps for my grand and my teaching console that are bright, stable, and well made. These lamps are absolutely the BEST ONTHE MARKET! No kidding. I've spent nearly a thousand dollars ensuring that I'd still be able to see the music a while longer as I continue to lose my sight. These are the only brand lamps that fit the need. I should write adds for them I'm such a believer now. These lamps have meant I can read a while longer. They're bright, can dim, adjust well, are strong & stable, the clip on one isn't overly heavy for a real (non-electric) piano, and look very good too. What more do you want?

Assembly was reasonably straightforward, but the threads which the bottom screws go into are aluminium, so it might be easy to get the screws cross-threaded, and ruin the solid connection to the base. In my case, there appeared to be some foreign material on the threads of one of the screws, so I had to be quite careful in getting that screw in straight. Fortunately, I managed to be successful! I really like the light! It adds a very nice ambience to the room, and lights up the music on the piano with a pleasing quality of light that is quite bright.
