Akamuti Liquid African Black Soap 250ml with frankincense and patchouli

We've bought this twice now, and while originally I would have marked this as a 4, I feel that over time the rating is more accurate at 3 stars.Pros:Natural product, no nasties, company supports fair wages.Neutral:The scent is pure frankincense; I know there's meant to be patchouli in there, but it isn't enough to soften/sweeten the strong, harsh woody tones. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's something to be aware of if you're used to other frankincense & patchouli items.Cons:As with most liquid African black soaps, you're paying for water. Sudsing quality isn't as good as with other comparable products (Alaffia, Nubian Heritage). You don't get very much for the price. The inner tube doesn't reach down to the bottom of the bottle, so you're left having to dilute the soap a lot at the end with water to get everything out. This is also more drying than the above-mentioned brands, and the consistency is a little more plasticky, which makes it feel less like a natural product.Summary:Still better than your standard body wash or hand soap by far, but not as good as other brands of liquid African black soap.

This soap is so kind to sensitive skin, smells beautiful, and it's fair trade too. Gentle enough to use it on your face, and a great all rounder for beside the sink, in the shower or at bath time. I've even washed my hair with it! It can be hard to find so was delighted to find it on Amazon.

Good soap

Nice and thick. Lathers well. Doesn’t smell very nice. Wouldn’t buy again as not as good value as the normal liquid organic Ghanaian black soap I use.

I have very sensitive skin, washing with this stings a bit but doesn't flare up and no redness afterwards. Lathers up real nice to creamy consistency , it doesn't dry out the skin and smells earthy and fresh which I like.

I loved this, it smells beautiful and lathers up to give a lovely body wash. I will but it again, and recomend it to friends.
