Otep comes out hitting real hard on this album. Otep Shamaya screams with the best of them, and has lyrics that completely f--king pummel any of the competition. The first liner notes read, "Learn as if you were going to live forever; live as if you were going to die tomorrow." An example of her lyrical ability is, "To all you weak m.c.'s, all you hardcore wanna-be's, if you step into the ring be prepared to swing." The chorus of "Battle Ready" reads, "Battle Ready! poets gonna take control, Battle Ready! souls violate parole, Battle Ready! violently invade your home, breaking the bones, Of those who pose! The guitar riffs are deep and hard, to say the least. This band is not for the timid. Growling, screaming, and poetry...I LOVE IT! AND...The end of the liner notes has the bands muses listed as follows: "our fans, sappho, frederick nietzsche, charles baudelaire, artemis, isis, kali, jean-paul sartre, jack kerouac, allen ginsberg...and many more including aleister crowley, timothy leary, and kurt cobain. If you are familiar with even just a few of these amazing historical figures, then you will have an even greater appreciation for this band. THE END.

ive been following this band since 2001 i first discovered them when i bought hybrid theory by linkin park i bought it at soundwaves and it came with two promotional demo tapes one was a split with candiria on one side and god forbid on the other and the other was by otep it had like 4 songs on it i loved it and immediatly purchased the full lenth debut when it came out

Got this album at Ozzfest a dozen or so years ago. Love it. Thought I lost it so ordered a new one. Found it, so gave this to my sister. She loves it as much as me!

Otep rocks in their own, hard-hitting and unique style.Smart, artful lyrics and skillfully executed, adrenalin pumping numetal rock.Great stuff.

This is one of my favorite cds when I want to listen to heavy metal/alternative/rocker chicks! She has much to say and will say it right in your face with brutal honesty. I think it has awesome beats/tunes and she has a good vocal range. This artist/album is NOT for the faint-hearted or easily disturbed!

I love the music on the CD and it was a gift.

This is Otep's best album. I don't think anything more needs to be said. I don't see how you could love this band and not love this album.

Having only discovered Otep a couple of months ago, I wasn't prepared to pay a lot of money for the entire back catalogue as I didn't know a whole lot of songs from their CD's. I already owned Hydra and the Ascension, I wasn't too mad on Hydra as being a concept album half the tracks don't have a whole lot of music on them. As I listened to the Ascension more and more it changed my opinion of Otep and made me wanna have more, that's where this CD came in.Sevas Tra is just a work of art. Every single track is individual, for me I'll just put this CD on shuffle and I can just listen for it for hours. You get the fast past tracks from the albums such as Blood Pigs, TRIC, Sacrilege and Battle Ready. Then you've got the not as fast but still as awesome such as My Confession, Possession and Menocide. For me, my favourite track has gotta be Filthee, I just love the different parts, the heavy bass in the background the build up to her screams in the chorus, definitely a song you can listen to whilst at the gym.This album has definitely renewed my love for Otep so much I went and bought the rest of their albums, all in the deluxe edition!

This one is a Heavy pummelling album which strangely is actually rather catchy the Guitar play big chunky Bottom end Riffs that are very memorable like on filthee the lyrics are like I HATE MEN BLAAHHH!!! but it is ok the actual album is as dark as the cover suggests but it is exciting and Relentlessly Heavy

Wenn man OTEP mag, ist dieses Album ein MUSS!!Meiner Meinung nach das beste Album der Künstlerin aus LA und ihrer Combo...

OTEP, après nous avoir livré début septembre dernier le EP "jihad", nous revient avec un premier véritable album détonnant dans une lignée néo-métal / néo-death métal new look . En effet, on peut y entendre des points communs avec Korn (le meilleur de Korn ), Coal Chamber, Slipknot, Kittie ( mais c'est 100 fois mieux que Kittie ! ), et on y entend aussi du métal + brutal, + massif, dans le style du death metal suèdois . La chanteuse du groupe est révoltée, énervée mais aussi elle souffre, et ses rugissements alternent avec des phrasés rap du meilleur acabit et des larmoiements dépressifs. L'intelligence de cet album est qu'il ne donne pas uniquement dans le brutal, dans le bourrinage, mais réussit aussi à placer des titres + atmosphériques . Le tout donne un album complètement hallucinant, hypnotique, dont on ne peut pas sortir indifférent, ni indemne, car cet album touche énormément par sa générosité que les musiciens y apportent, ainsi que par leur sincérité et leur intégrité musical .En conclusion, un album formidablement hyper inspiré, hyper varié, et qui constitue vraiment un chef d'oeuvre d'anthologie incontournable . Donc un excellent album à se procurer de toute urgence !

Très bon album.Le mixage laisse la place au naturel.Un gros coup de coeur pour Battle Ready et Emtee et très prenante

女性ボーカルの域を遥かに超えちゃってます。バキバキな重厚なサウンド男かとしか思えないデスヴォイス（驚きました）女性ならではの色っぽさ、狂気が見事に描かれているアルバムだと思います。あとラップのパートが結構多いのですが、このバンドに関しては　　　軟弱になるどころか凶暴さを増す為の物でしか有りません。皆さん極悪ミクスチャーかっこいいすよ。

自分は外国人の友人の生のレビュー鵜呑みして買いましたが、やってくれてますね、SLIPKNOT直系のへヴィロックスタイルにデス声&エロティック女VO.で痺れます、ジャケの裏側は日本では問題作な写真には驚きましたよ(笑)。
