Daler-Rowney Cornwall Field Easel, Wood, One Size

Great Product, very compact. only 2 things that may be a bit negative, the drawer was smaller than i thought it may be and can be a bit annoying folding the legs away.

My husband was delighted with this as a Christmas gift, it is easy to assemble and dismantle and not to heavy to carry on his shoulder. It will provide hours of enjoyment while he paints the local landmarks!

This is considerably cheaper then its nearest rival. It has a stool and carry bag in addition to the easel. It is lighter too. However as you might expect it is not perfectly made. I needed to take a screwdriver and wood glue to strengthen it after one trip out.Having only used a normal easel, I like its ability to carry brushes and paints in the box draw. The design too is fine providing the canvas is large enough you can leave it on the easel wet and carry it home to dry. If it is not as tall as the top of the box then you will need to carry it separately, or as I improvised, use some bull dog clips to clip it to the outside of the bag.The easel and stool fitted into the bag, which was sturdy enough and hangs over a shoulder so it is easy to carry. The straps which were to link the easel to the stool so you can carry then together were attached with feeble staples - one was loose in the box when it arrived, the other pulled off with a gentle tug. I was not bothered, as it all fitted in the bag anyway. The brass bolts and wing nuts seem sturdy enough.The main problem is the back leg which unfolds to be held by a (too small) brass flange held with two (too small) c 3mm screws. This came off and owing to the folding action of the leg there is little room to mend it. Glue and rescrewing were the only alternative. Though if this does not hold one of the now redundant straps could be used to bind it & hold the leg straight.So I would not recommend it as a gift, but if you are on a budget you can get it to do the job.BTW It is an easel for adults, and is not a children's toy

Arrived broken and obviously repackaged from previous return. Not particularly robust. However probably suitable for my use, had it been intact, but a very large item to return.Definitely not suitable for children, heavy, flimsy in places, liable to collapse trapping fingers .
