Great product once you get going BUT read the instuctions
I bought this as i had a load of painting to get done in a short amount of time. At first i thought it was broken as it didn’t seem to suck any paint into the paint tube but i soon worked out you have to suck a little in, take the thing off the sucker tube and push some paint down the sprayer tube. It will then suck up paint nicely. The instructions do mention this but its easily missed. Im willing to bet the other reviewers that said theirs were broken and wouldn’t suck up paint missed this vital bit of info.Once i started paint with it i was amazed at how quick it was compared to a conventional roller setup. I wouldn’t go back to the roller and paint tray now. I did try but gave up after 30 seconds and used this again.I used this for ceilings and walls and it worked a treat. Its nowhere near as messy as a conventional roller. I didnt even bother with dust sheets most the time.Cleaning once you are used to it takes about 15-20mins but its time well spent as it will prolong the life of the roller. Tbh though i‘m not that bothered if i do botch the cleaning a little as you can get spares for everything you would need to. The only exception to that rule is the metal nozzle that sprays the paint through the holes onto the roller. If you allow that to block, you will need to fork out another £30 for a new kit. I simply suck a load of water into the tube when cleaning and spray it out of the nozzles to clear anything when done to prevent blockages. This works just fine.I highly recomend this item if you want speed and like me find painting a little tedious. Its £30 well spent.

DO NOT BUY
Where to start. Given one star as there is no minus option. Bought this so that I could paint my ceiling, mainly over the stairs so that I would not need a specialist ladder. Took all my strength to pull the plunger without knocking the paint can over and when I did no paint came with it. Tried several times but nothing. So decided to use it as a normal extended roller except it would not fit in the paint tray. Finally figured a work round and got paint on the roller. Put it to the ceiling and not even close to smooth, lumps of paint all over the ceiling and drips everywhere because I was unable to apply any pressure when it was extended, too flimsy, and although it was stronger when not extended it was no longer able to reach where I needed to paint. Now in the bin as I could not return it without cleaning it and cannot be bothered to clean something so unable to achieve its sole purpose in life.

A handy tool for saving time
A bit fiddly at first (make sure to use vaseline on the value/pipe where the paint is sucked up as this prevents air getting trapped) but once I got the hang of it, I found this a great tool to help do big swatches of wall with! Saved plenty of going up and down ladders to get paint!

Great item... however
Perfect item, but there is one extremely large fault. And thats the drip guard. The dripgaurd is the sole weakness of this roller. It absolutely needs to be on in order to keep the tension on the rest of the parts or all the paint will spill out onto your carpet every few rolls!!They decided to go cheap quality on the absolute most important part of the entire build. They made the dripgaurd out of a cheap bendy plastic. It does not hold the tension of the endcap which keeps the paint from spilling out and emptying itself literrally everywhere. As a work around I had to get a pipe clip and put it on the inside portion of the drip guard providing more tension that it actually should have had inorder to be a fully working product. Please make metal or an alternative material dripguard replacement! The current one sucks bad! Other than that, love the entire product, i'd be happy to buy a new material dripguard which helps this issue for around £10-20

Same issue with sucking up paint. Must be a design flaw
In principle, this is a great idea. I read other reviews with misgivings but I decided to give it a try.Firstly, it's not as heavy as some mention, in fact it is perfectly manageable. It works like a normal roller would except you have the ability to charge it with paint, although it doesn't hold much.My experience was a poor one. It didn't suck up paint. The sucking up operation was not made clear and I got a bit frustrated. I had to read other reviews on here to find out what to do. At first it doesn't suck paint up, and I attribute this to a missing reed valve in the roller tube. There isn't one in the design but there should be, and if there were it would work straight off. But instead you have go through with repeatedly pushing and shoving the plunger eventually paint gets through, but it gets messy and time-consuming. After a few rolls on the wall, the tube is empty and you're back to filling the tube again with all its pallaver and I questioned at the time whether it was better just to use a bog standard roller. With all the faffing about it would have probably been quicker. The spatter guard is useless, and the roll quality isn't great. Then there is the cleaning. Oh my. Allow three times longer than a normal roller to clean this thing. And much paint is wasted. Something that in theory should be more efficient and time-saving . . .isn't.

Time saver
Great product when you make sure you seal the connection bits correctly. Took ages to start as air was getting in. Needed extra petroleum jelly. Great having a spare head.

Hard Work
Seemed like a good idea but was concerned about some of the reviews. It works but you need arms of steel. Filling it can be tricky and takes time to learn to get it right. Lastly not made for cleaning a real pain to clean down after use. Not sure if we can get new rollers, so may have been a one trip pony.

Makes rolling 10 times easier
2 coats done in nice clothes, no dust sheets down, no mess or splashes made. Makes the entire process so easy. If you're doing 2 colours at the same time, these are cheap enough to buy 2 so you can literally just smash through rooms with a feature wall in a different colour. If you make sure you pump enough paint into the roller at all times, you can even get away with walls looking finished in just one coat with good paint.
