Americaine Hemorrhoidal Ointment, Maximum Strength, 1 Ounce 28 G

Works very quick, stops burning pain and itching almost immediately. Other products caused irritation if used more than a few days but I have used this product for over a month with no irritation and it still works great. It is benzocaine so it does cause a numbing sensation, I find that relieving but some people don't like that sensation.

I have been using and recommending this product for over ten years. Everyone I recomend this product to has raved about it. Recently I underwent a hemorrhoidectomy and I used this ointment. When I went in for my exam, my doctor asked how painfull it was? I replied "not too bad". I know it would have been more painful without my Americaine.

My Surgeon sent me home with this (and some hydrocortozone creme) after a hemeroidecyomy surgery.I definitely like the consistency, with it being a petroleum product it goes on slippery, and remains slippery for quite some time.The 20% Benzocaine is used to help decrease pain, discomfort, and:or itching. Although, this is my 2nd choice (my 1st is a 5% Lidocaine =Rectasoothe but that is much more expensive and even more difficult to find/purchase), regardless, this creme is still tons above the other over the counter products out there that I have found, including Preperation-H, (haven’t tried the lidocaine version) etcSHIPPING:This product Shipped FAST! & I received it prior to when the system shows it should be delivered, which works for me, Sooner is Better than Later!! Was one of the few items I received lately that had the proper paperwork invluded. Also arrived in a small self-build a box Pharma Box, that was simple, easy, and perfect for its size, although there was little to No packing material envlosed,I find this product effective in helping to ease irritation, or at least, to help keep everything more moist and comfortable. Buy other stuff for the price and see the effect. This stuff works and is all that it claims to be. Am not sure what you use it for, but for what we do... it is great.

I thought it would have a little more of a numbing effect but other than that, it works really well.

Love this stuff. I was a Firefighter & Ocean Lifeguard for 25 years. Lots of uses. This stuff is great for man o war & jellyfish stings. Used it on sea lice & minor burns and insect stings. Can't say enough good about the stuff. 25% topical anesthetic. Not for children due to secondary contact issues. Sensible, judicious use only. It is a drug.

Great product for pain as well as itching.

Why they took this off the market years ago I dont know but as a person that used it before I am totally sold on it for life. I used it years ago when I gave birth to my daughter for pain relief from that. Now I am using it for the obvious reasons after having surgery. Hope to be able to buy more when the time comes.
