Ciao Italia: Live From Italy [DVD] [1999] [Region 1] [NTSC]

Ciao Italia is Madonna at her 80's best. With amazing songs and a few simple stage props and costume changes, she commands the stage by the way she meant to go on. Compared to later performances such as ReInvention, Confessions & Sticky and Sweet, this is no head turner, but it's from the days when Madonna was increasing in popularity and legend status.

I'm very happy with the dvd. It was delivered in perfect condition and in good time. I had the video before but it had much poorer quality plus with the DVD I can find exact song I want in very little time

Italy has always loved madonna,and this tour of 1988 shows why. This is the whos that girl tour and even though its madonna at her early beginings it shows what a confident performer she is. Its wild and zaney at times but the songs of the period are all here and are great. The camera work is clearly 1988 but is forgivable and i would reccomend it to all.

Everyone will tell you that Blonde Ambition was Her Madgesty's best concert, but in my opinion this one is.Out of the 16 songs she performs here just one song had never been a hit single in one counrty or another. She sings completely live and the choreography is stunning. It's also a very simple set-up compared to her subsequent concerts so you can dance around your living room to it without feeling that you'll miss something if you're not looking at the screen.The only slightly annoying thing is the Italian speeches she makes, and it's only annoying because I can't tell what she is saying!Easily her best concert (so far!). Enjoyable from beginning to end.

Revenir en arrière à mes plus belles années....Pas trop de changement de costumes saurait été mieux, surtout dans ce pays qui est le siens aussi...... Mais satisfaite d'avoir pu m'éclater les oreilles et chanté comme une dingue j'ai fais profiter les voisines(âgées) mdr..... Love Madonna ❤️❤️❤️

I saw Madonna on this tour at the CNE Toronto in August 1987 so I was already prepared for what to expect, but in hindsight this concert actually seems quite quaint—not an adjective normally used to describe Madonna. This was her second tour—and the last before Blonde Ambition—the point where each of her shows became a big planned spectacle and she became a control freak demanding perfection from herself and those around her. There is a spontaneity here that is refreshing, and at many points in the show there are no background dancers, nor any whiplash-inducing edits—just her singing, dancing and having a good time, something that seemed to be sorely lacking from all of her shows this millennium which all had this cold, calculated vibe to them.Of course, being over 30 years old, the show is like a time capsule. It’s fun seeing the background singers in their poufy skirts, flats, and crimped hair—all the fashion rage at the time. The AIDS crisis was at its peak and the timely message of SAFE SEX is flashed onstage during PAPA DON’T PREACH. During said song, Madonna not only performs this unintentionally hilarious funky-chicken dance step while singing the chorus, but she also leans back on a chair and strikes the iconic True Blue album cover pose. This is the only chance to see her perform live THE LOOK OF LOVE, which should have been released as a single, as it almost rivals LIVE TO TELL as one of her moodier ballads.Sure, this concert has some goofy moments, but Madonna was clearly enjoying her newfound fame here, wasn’t nearly so self-conscious or as full of herself as she’d become the next decade. VERY fun to revisit.

Llego a tiempo y precintado correctamente. Sin grandes derroches audiovisuales. Se trata de una de las mejores giras a nivel vocal de madonna.
