Why the low reviews? This is a well-packaged, concise collection of some of the best X-Files episodes. I don't consider it a waste of money to have of the greatest episodes in an easy to access format. I have the entire series, but this was a very nice addition to my collection.

This is for anyone who loved the original series when it aired, but never got the DVD's. If you already HAVE the series on disc it IS NOT for you. Read the description. Not a word about anything new, extended, or re-mastered. What this set does is eliminate the fans biggest complaint. All those light-weight silly episodes that had NOTHING to do with the big "smoking-man-UFO-Mulder's-Sister-conspiracy" are skipped over and instead only those episodes continuing the story you tuned in every week hoping to see more of are what's here. Instead of the somewhat cryptic "Mythology" title, (which does kinda make it sound like there may be something new here), a more ACCURATE-to-the-point title for this set would have been "The Essential X-Files" . Also, on the TECHNICAL side, watch out for DVD/Bluray players and/or TV's that have "auto-upscaling" on. This gives a full, but FALSE "16X9" At least SET ONE is seasons shot for 4X5 and you can't "re-master-fix this. If something in your system is upscaling it you'll see "fat heads". easier than hunting this setting down, perhaps, it the zoom or aspect button on the TV remote, FORCE it back to 4X5 or "regular" (depending on the TV) and wah-lah, perspective the way it was intended. (side-black bars and all)

I had these episodes on video back then. Now I finally have them back on dvd in good quality. I am happy ! Thank you

If you're an X-Files fan this is all you need. Its a collection of the best of X-Files that covers all the episodes regarding the alien theme of abduction and take-over. None of the more goofy and paranormal themed episodes. While there are a select few non-alien episodes that were good and not in this collection that I like, this collection will definitely fill your X-Files Fix.

I love the X-Files. What I like about this set is that all the mythology episodes from seasons 1-9 are included. The mythology episodes are my favorite episodes. If you want to watch only the mythology episodes, these 4 sets of dvd's are the perfect way to do it.

I bought this set as a backup to the set I bought many yrs ago. This is a MUST HAVE for true X-Files fans! All the alien, black oil and super soldiers all lined up. I highly recommend this purchase.

This is a must have for any x files fan. The first set three disc's came damaged. The replacement product was perfect. Make sure to check the disc's.
