Nice parts, worse channeling in old Classic.
I have a 15 yr old Gaggia Classic and wanted to replace the corroded shower screen holder. This "tune-up kit" is a great price, the IMS screen is very pretty, and I already use and like the Cafelat silicone gasket. It all fit beautifully and looked great. But I got large divots and channeling at specific spots on the puck every time, regardless of coffee, dose, tamp. I tried every experiment I could think of: screw tightness, old screen, portafilter rotation, reinstall holder, but only changing back to the original shower holder solved the problem. I don't really understand, 6 holes seems like it should be better than 4, but I do note that the back of the 6-hole screen holder has a narrow, deep channel, much different from the shallower and wider water path in the original Gaggia part. Your experience may vary, but I've since seen several similar reports online.2022 Update - got around to replacing entire boiler. No channeling now. Bottom line, "Tune Up Kit" can't fix everything! So full stars to be fair.

Major improvement for a six year old machine
I've owned a 2014 version of the Gaggia Classic for about a year or two, which I purchased used on eBay. I am a professional barista, so I know my way around an espresso machine, and my shots on the Gaggia Classic have been good sometimes, but also sometimes off. I thought that installing this kit would help, and oh boy did it ever. It was very easy to install, as there are videos on YouTube of people installing similar items to help. The products are of very good quality, and I immediately noticed an improvement in water dispersion from the shower screen. I pulled three shots yesterday and two today and all were very nice. My next improvement on my machine will be tweaking the pressure down to 9 bar and purchasing a bottomless portafilter, but the improvements this kit has made mightend up being be the best of all.

Good upgrade!
My aluminum shower head was nasty and super oxidized. Gasket also needed replacement tho it was not presenting any problems. This is a good upgrade it looks nice too in the machine.Only small complaint is they for some reason I need to turn the portafilter a lot more to fit snugly. Not sure why. I’m sure I’ll get used to it but I have to wonder if it is the gasket or screen, they look nearly identical in size to original.Overall very satisfied tho.

Best value upgrade for coffee taste
I have done 7 or 8 upgrades to my espresso machine now, and this one is probably the #1 dollar for value upgrade for coffee taste. Also, it is very easy to install and can be done by any primate with a screwdriver. After doing this upgrade, you can actually taste a noticeable difference in coffee quality The other great one was upgrading my grinder burrs (from used and worn burrs), which was more expensive but also a major difference. Anyway, I would highly recommend this upgrade as one of your first 2 or 3 upgrades.Tip: Make sure to unscrew it and clean it when you descale. If you don’t descale, you better start before your machine fails. Also, if you have not descaled your machine in a long time, you have a major coffee taste upgrade to look forward to after you’re done.

Worked better than I expected.
I really only got this because my shower screen screw was stripped and I knew I'd have to destroy the screen and possibly the plate above it to get to the gasket. The claims that I'd get a better shot or whatever meant nothing to me. The installation was quick and easy. I have to admit, the shots came out better. I think the espresso tastes better -- that's *gotta* be in my mind, right? Regardless -- no more leaky shots.

Gaggia classic kit
Putting this together now and it is missing the filter screw , I do not have mine any longer. Edit to my review . I luckily found my original screw ! Works great!!! I’ve had this since 2011 and this is my first maintenance ‘_’

Group leak like a shower when pullijg a shot after tune up kit installed
I decided to upgrade to brass shower holder but it did not go well.I installed IMS tuneup kit for Gaggia Classic Pro. The installed was easy but noticed group head leaking water when pulling a shot. I have to crank the handle to like 5 o'clock but still leaked. I ordered a new replacement gasket but still leaks. I decided to revert back to lthe original alumnium shower holder. That fixed the leaked. I am unable to return the product since I have to replace the gasket.I am not sure how this itme have such great reviews. I would never recommend this product as it wasted more money without any benefits.

Brass shower screen creates channeling. Silicon gasket not much better than rubber.
The holes in brass shower screen holder are too small, and not beveled, which creates too much pressure and leaves a small divot on the side of my puck. The silicone gasket wore out after less than a year, same as the original rubber gasket. While it was working, I noticed it was easier to lock in the portafilter... but I wouldn't say longevity is one of the benefits here. A shame, since I was under the impression silicone wouldn't stiffen and shrink the way rubber did.The IMS shower screen is nice, but doesn't change the flavor at all. It is easier to clean though.Overall, I was disappointed with this kit. The brass holder is fundamentally flawed and the silicone gasket, though ever so slightly better than the original, does not hold up to its reputation for durability.
