Terrific Travel Potty
Other moms recommended this seat to me and I'm forever grateful that they did. This little seat has saved us time and again. It has travelled through England and Wales. Attended festivals, fireworks, and parties. Done it's duty at the beach, in the car, on the plane, in public restrooms, in private restrooms, at the pool, at the playground, at the Botanical Gardens... you name it. The ease with which you can use it either as a stand alone potty or as a toddler seat on regular toilets is great. There have been countless times that we have had to use it pronto and pulled it out/set it up/packed it back up and got back rolling in record time. Our son is 3 years old and big for his age (42 lbs & 41 inches tall). It is a short little seat but he has no problems with it. He fits fine and it holds his weight easily. I wouldn't use it as his "at home" option because it wasn't built for that kind of use and it isn't as comfortable as the Bjorn, for instance, but it is great when we are on the go. He knows he has to hold himself down to avoid spills so we are not bothered by the fact that there is not a big cover for little boys. Our biggest challenge with the seat? We have tried using plastic grocery bags with outgrown extra diapers used as the absorbent instead of the Potette liners - we won't be doing that anymore. If you miss seeing the hole in the bag then everything leaks. We found out the hard way several times now so we are going back to the Potette liners. Otherwise it works like a charm. It is small enough that it fits in a backpack/diaper bag/large purse. I'm the mom that magically pulls the potty out of her purse at soccer in the public park when one of the kiddos needs to go right now, the public toilet is too far and people frown on just going in the grass. (Although most of the moms now have this seat too. We are all packing Potettes. Haha.) It has truly helped our little guy with his potty training and helps me avoid all of the extra wash associated with all of the accidents that would have happened if we didn't have this little wonder. Tips: 1. Lock the legs in place when using it as a stand alone seat or it won't be sturdy. When locked in properly the seat is very solid/sturdy. 2. Set the seat up in the car before you go on long drives/trips. It helps to have it already set up before you pull over to have the little ones use the seat. 3. We see the Summer Infant Keep Me Clean Disposable Potty covers for public toilets. They definitely help with the "ick" factor by protecting both your child and the Potette from coming in contact with any part of the public seat. 4. It is small enough to keep with you... so just take it with you. Easy peasey. My family has always teased me for grabbing it when we go out but they always are grateful I have it is the end!

Ode to the Potette 2-in1 travel potty
Oh 2-in1 Potette Plus travel potty how I love thee! Let me count the ways... 1.) When my "need to go potty right now mommy!" toddler and now preschool son or daughter needed you- you were there for us! Sometimes even in the back of our minivan or at a park. 2. When my too small/too scared to sit on the big toilet in a public restroom daughter needed you -you were there! I could just open you up & put you on the ground (on top of a seat liner because I'm grossed out by public bathroom floors LOL ) and she could pee into your little bag and be happy as a clam. 3.) When the kids got a little taller and less scared of the big toilet I could just open you up and put you on top of the toilet seat and they would feel secure sitting and were able to hold onto you instead of the germy public toilet seat. 4.) You were inexpensive! Watch for sales because I think I got to you for $11. And oh you have paid for yourself time and time again saving me from changing peed in (or worse!) little kids underwear and pants. 5.) My kids are 3.5 and I still use you in the fold it out way on top of public toilet seats. I love that I can just sanitize you with the Lysol wipes when I get home. 6.) I love that you are so small and portable yet so functional and useful. I researched travel potties to death (I research everything to death) and I like that you do not take up much room at all. 7.) I love that you would be there in an emergency for me too if needed - though I swear I haven't had to yet -you never know,(!) and it is nice to have you there. I have heard some people bring you for their camping trips even as adults. Hints/ tips that work for me: ******************************** *The bag it comes in only carries it in the folded down way. When I was using it a lot as a mini stand-alone potty on the floor I just got a little bit bigger bag to carry it in. *Because the legs can be a little tricky / stiff to fold out and snap back in-and you want to make sure the legs have clicked securely in place so that the potty is stable. Unlike some reviews have said it IS very sturdy if you click the legs in correctly. *I personally love the bags it came with and you can buy for it especially for pee as it does soak up some of it. Also they do fit the potty perfectly (as opposed to using a plastic grocery sack but that is a cheaper / viable option as well) I could fit up to four on at a time so one kid could pee - I pulled off the bag and the other one could pee in the next bag all ready to go- very nice whentime was of the essence as one child was waiting.( did I mention I have twins?'😁) All in all a great purchase and one that has come in handy countless times!

Great travel potty
Bought this potty a couple of months ago but just started using it a week ago. We were on vacation last week and I had brought the potty along (since it fits nicely in a suitcase without taking up much room) just so that my daughter could continue to practice and sit on the potty (she had not actually peed in any potty prior to last week). I guess she decided that she was ready to potty train on her own and while running around naked for most of the vacation she would go sit on the potty any time she had to go. It is very sturdy and I have not had any problems with the legs collapsing. I have not used it as a potty seat for the big toilet since my daughter hates big toilets, especially in public restrooms. I have put it on a regular toilet and it seems to sit on there very well without slipping. I actually haven't used the special bags at all. I had a bunch of diaper sacks that I ended up not using before so decided to give those a try. They require a little bit of stretching and finagling but work very well. These are the sacks (purchased at Wal-Mart) Sassy Baby Disposable 200 Counts Diaper Sacks I had tried putting in a cut up panty liner as someone had suggested but that just freaked her out. She loves dumping out her potty when done and so we just emptied the bag out in the toilet and then replaced it with a new one (since we weren't on the go). They are not biodegradable like the special sacks so that would be the only drawback I suppose. My plan is to just have a few paper towels ready when we are on the road and just throw those in after she is done peeing to soak up the liquid before tying off the bag. Highly recommend this travel potty for on the go toddlers. It is very compact and would fit in a diaper bag or back pack very easily.

A truly portable potty!
We purchased this two years ago at the beginning stages of potty training our son, hoping it would come in handy if we were out and about. We have used it several times and it has been great! It is a really great way to use a public restroom without worrying about our child slipping on the larger toilet seats. We haven't actually used it as a standing potty, but just as a smaller seat on top of toilets. Then again, we were potty training a boy, and boys can pee standing up pretty much anywhere. Our next venture will be with a girl, and she will need to sit when she goes, so we will probably end up using it is a stand-alone potty at some point! (I'll update it with that info!) We have found that it will stay securely on any toilet seat since it has the two handles that flip out and are rubber-backed. It definitely helps our son relax when he needs to go in an unfamiliar environment. He doesn't have a problem urinating, but when it comes to bowel movements, he needs to be sitting securely and to be able to take his time (I'm sure others can understand that need!) It is definitely smaller than the potty seat he uses at home, but that is what is so great about it! It does seem like it would be uncomfortable if used for a long period of time, but in a pinch, it does the job! The carrying bag that comes with it is also a great feature, since it makes it less noticeable when we have to carry it into a restaurant. It also helps keep the germs from the seat off of other surfaces until we can get home to clean it. Overall, this has been very handy and we will continue to use it with our second child, and then with the third on the way!

Car Potty
I keep this in my car with old diapers and shopping bags. This has truly saved me many times on road trips and sporting events with porta potties. Such a necessary part for parenting toddlers. Highly recommend as it folds easily and takes up barely any space. Can easily fit in most car center consoles and trunks.

Absolutely Love It
This potty is one of the best "baby gear" purchases I've made. It has saved us many times when there was no toilet around to speak of. My daughter is 2 & we take it along to parks, playgrounds, festivals, etc. It stays in the car w/ extra bags & I just run her back to the car & use it right outside if it's fairly private or pop her on the front seat floorboard. It works great. Occasionally I've put it in my bag & brought it with me when we're out at larger parks, beaches or festivals when we can't run back to the car quickly. It folds up surprisingly small & doesn't take up much room in my bag at all (I no longer use a diaper bag so I carry a fairly compact bag). We also bring it with us traveling as a potty topper so that she can use the potty comfortably wherever we go. I've not found it too small or too big. It's not a real potty, it's a portable one, so I don't have expectations of it to be perfect...just convenient & sturdy. I really can't imagine not having this now that my daughter is potty trained. My one small complaint is that when I use it as a potty & need to close it up to put it away, the legs will pop all the way off b/c of how the notches are. It's kind of annoying. I have to try to get it back in the right notch & it has pinched my finger once or twice. I've gotten the hang of it now though so I'm more careful about it. That's really about it though. It's a great product! I've surely helped sell lots of these b/c I've convinced loads of my friends to buy it too! One other thing, I took the advice of other reviewers & just tape some paper towel to the bottom of grocery bags instead of buying their bags. It has worked perfect.

Useful, but not amazing
This is a product that I really WANT to love. It's a great concept, and it has, in fact, proven useful for us. We keep it set up in the back of the SUV for the toddler that always needs to go potty five minutes into any car ride. It's very handy to be able to just pull over and let her climb in the back to pee. However, I do have some issues with the product: 1) Size: The Potette is quite small, and even with my smallish 2-eyar old, I have to position her very carefully and still have some occasional misses. I know the size needs to be small to be carried around. 2) Sturdiness: You have to make sure the legs are snapped in just right before a child can sit on it, or one or both legs will collapse while your child pees. Snapping them in can be difficult at times, especially when you're urgently trying to set it up to prevent an accident! Leaving it set up works fine for us, but on the occasion that we need to stow it away, getting the legs unsnapped and folded has been a pain. I've had to pull them completely off and then re-snap them into the first hole. This makes it hard to be truly versatile and '2-in-1,' at least while your kid is still in the urgent stage where they need the potty quickly. 3) Bags: Again, attaching the bags in a hurry is a bit annoying, but if you don't attach them just right they have a tendency to slip off while the child pees. The pad in the bottom isn't super large, so there still may be a bit of splash. You can use grocery store bags and a paper towel instead of buying expensive refills. Overall, the product is convenient if you leave it set up and use just as a potty, but otherwise the set up can take a little long for a small toddler to wait when they need to go quickly. If you're going to leave it set up anyway, a small one-piece potty is probably a sturdier option. This fits well in a small stroller basket or tote bag for shopping, if you do want to carry it around. I have not used it as a trainer seat, but it seems that it fits well on the toilet and gives the child a clean place to hold. You just then have to deal with folding and unfolding the legs.
