I am *very* pleased with these. They are exceptional, and very fairly priced for what you get. I ordered one (1) set of four birds (two large, two small), and two (2) sets of two (small birds). They were all bought at different times.They are very well done, with fine craftsmanship. I also appreciate that they are made out of recycled metal by true artisans. I was truly amazed at the level of detail in them. All eight (8) are equally beautiful. Unlike some handcrafted items which can vary a great detail depending on when/by whom they were done, all of my birds are obviously done with fine attention to detail with very little noticeable variance.I am very picky about bird items as to their authenticity (i.e., I absolutely hate “Chinese” birds done with weird colors, have strange shapes, etc.). As I am a fairly experienced bird watcher, I will only accept bird items that are in keeping with the real deal. These very definitely are. Such beautiful works of art that I truly treasure on the walls of my living room here in FL!They are packaged so nice, too. I felt like I was opening a gift (and they sure are!). Wrapped well so they don’t get bent, then over-wrapped with a piece of colorful tissue paper and tied with a nice ribbon. You really feel special when you are opening them up. The artists that craft these are really the ones who are special, to be sure. I feel fortunate to have been able to find such nice works of art in my home. 🙂

I thought these decorative wall plaques of sandpipers were very well made. They are made from the metal of oil barrels, yet skilled Haitian artisans are able to convert this crude material into a work of beauty. The surface is hammered with interesting, decorative motifs in a striking brownish gray patina. Very light weight, they are easy to hang (a very small nail will do). I put them in my guest bathroom, and they look great. A clear lacquer coating adds vibrancy and helps prevent rusting. Plus, I was able to help the excellent work of a skilled Haitian artisanal cooperative.

I wanted something unusual to put on the wall, and this worked beautifully. There is a nail hole in each bird for hanging purposes. To blend the otherwise shiny silver nail head, I took a black sharpie marker and colored the nail head, then partially wiped off the black with a paper towel. You don't even notice the nail as it blends in with the color of the birds. Very good quality, and I also liked that it is helping to recycle used materials.

I love these sandpipers. I think the value was good and the quality was good and they make me happy every time I look at them definitely one of the best things that I've bought on Amazon

The detail is great on the birds. They look just like what I expected from the picture. They are a very good deal.

I’ve been a fan of this art for a number of years, from purchasing sand pipers to flying birds. The quality is excellent and the craftsmanship exquisite. The fact that they are made from recycled steel drums is just a plus!

The bird were cute but looked like something that you could get in a tourist shop. I am hoping that the high price means that ALL the profits went to the people of Haiti.
