EXO Puts Lee's (brand) "Kricket Keeper" to Shame!
I own various sizes of Lee's Kricket Keepers and they don't even come close to the quality of this Exo Terra Cricket Pen.Both have the same identical removable ventilated lids with one major exception. Lee's feeder tubes slide into the TOP sides of the LID rather then the body of the Keeper / Pen like Exo's does. A BIG minus when removing the entire top off and handling three items / parts.Exo's tubes stay put, inside, leaving any Hobo cricks remaining inside the tube(s) with no way to escape.Another BIG difference between the two styles are the "Cricket (tubes) dispensers themselves, Lee's are round while the Exo's is square, which makes the EXO'S more stable all the way around and keeps pressure on the trays at their "bottoms" from moving out of place. Here are the BIG differences though:Lee's has these "Lame" round flaps that (suppose) to cover the tube opening when pulled out and almost all of the time they (the flaps) fall off!The Exo Terra Cricket Pen has a drop down "Flapper door" built into the the inside of the pen's sides NOT IN THE LID (like Lee's) that will never fail.Simply slide the tube out of the Exo Terra Cricket Pen and the flapper drops down very fast and automatically to prevent escapes and easily reopens when the tubes are reinserted. The Exo Includes both a cricket food tray, and a water tray, both with tapered steps for even the smallest "Pinheads" to scale, the "Lee's" does not provide any Gut Loading trays.EXO also included a black sponge to retain moisture in the water tray. Each tray slides in neatly on the opposite ends of the pen held in place by the (inserted) square tubes that keep the trays from sliding around. The trays can easily be removed for refilling and cleaning. A very nice touch! At the time of this review both where eligible for "Prime" with the Exo costing ONLY 22 CENTS MORE than the Lee's, it's easily worth even a few dollars more! Also the Exo has a nice shinny Black top cover and is manufactured with a thicker, higher quality plastic, than the Lee's.I'm going to purchase the Large Exo Cricket Pen next.P.S.I removed the sponge from the water tray and fill it with Fluker's Cricket Quencher

Perfect
This is my favorite design. I like that I can take the lid off and still have the black tubes in place. Others have the tubes that come through the lid. Ordering a 2nd. I also appreciate the packaging. Shipped with bubble wrap to prevent cracks and all during shipping. Couldn't ask for much more.

Keeps the Crickets In, Keeps No One Out
This does work well for my crickets and keeps them contained and secure between purchase and use. But I find that I end up with dozens of fruit flies inside when I give the crickets any fruit at all. And I have the cricket keeper in a closed, dark cabinet, so I am a little baffled that so many of them are getting in. I do wish it was easier to access the food and water dishes, too. I have to take the cricket tubes out to get at the dishes, and that runs the risk of letting them all escape. I haven't had that situation yet, but it's a real possibility. I do like the cricket tubes, mind you. They make actually getting the crickets into my terrariums much easier, so it is just a balance of ease of use versus ease of keeping your crickets alive. At least, until, you know . . .

Great Insect Keeper
This is the best insect keeper I own right now (I have three). I bought the large one to make sure crickets can't escape easily. The square tubes had ridges inside to make it easier for the insects to climb into. I also place a couple of the tubes in the dubia roaches' bin because even dubis can go up the tube. Of course, I don't put dubis in this container because they prefer the dark. Nevertheless, feeding our bearded dragon is much easier with this product. The insect feeders are also good to have. I threw out the sponge that came with them. I get the crystal/gel insect waterer/food and some fresh veggies (carrots, sweet potatoes, collard greens etc.) to gut load the crickets or dubis. This container is also easy to clean. The one flaw I see on this product is a hole on the lid. I taped it up to make sure the insects can't crawl out of it. Besides that, it is a very good bin to keep the insects for feeding reptiles and amphibians.

Has gotten cheaper over the years
I have purchased this in the past and my old one broke and the new one has holes between the tubes and small crickets can get out.

That was fast batman!
Wasn't expecting to get the product for another week or more, but it arrived at my door faster than some things shipped straight from amazons own warehouses, Amazing! Price is more than fair, the small here was less than half the price than it is at my local Petco. We only have one PacMan frog so the small should be plenty big to hold 2-3 dozen small-medium crickets at a time and get them gut loaded on flukers and veggies. Like all critter carriers the clear plastic is going to be stupid brittle so don't bang it around. My only complaint is with the feeding tubes, wish they entered a little lower on the side of the container, this might make escape through the door more of a risk, but it would shorten the tube length giving more space inside for more cricket hide and surface area for them to tuck into. Then again I did get a small....Its perfect for the insectivore in your life that lives on a staple of banded/brown crickets from your local pet store.

This product is a disgrace to the Exo Terra name
This product is complete garbage. It is so shoddily made with cheap and thin plastic construction that I fear I'll break something every time I touch it. As someone who owns 2 Exo Terra terrariums, which are very solidly built, I can't believe this junk is also made by them. This looks and feels like something that costs them $3 to make. Maybe less, who knows?Update: This product is worse than I initially thought, and my initial impression was that this is a 1-star product. Well, aside from the shoddy construction, this cricket pen has some major, unacceptable flaws. It has large gaps on the top so the crickets are climbing to the top and escaping. One day I found 7 crickets loose in my house. That's just the number of escapees I found; who knows how many crickets in total escaped...
