Meet Pammy Panda, Tyg Tiger, Rick Raccoon, Digger Mole, and Bogey Orangutan -- they're cute, they're furry and they have a secret. Whenever the purple mushroom by the tree they call home starts to flash they swing into action as the crime-sleuthing squad called the Shirt Tales. Racing to their secret lair hidden underneath the tree (and under the nose of Park Ranger Mr. Dinkle), they answer the Shirt Tale Alert from the Commissioner who clues them in on the current crime via holo-phone. Then it's off to their shape-changing supersonic craft where they use their wiles and their fantastic gadgets to solve the mystery and nab the bad guys. These message-wearing T-shirted critters started out as adorable (and adored) greeting card characters but it took the genius of Hanna-Barbara to take the cute and mix-it up with a blend of Batman and Scooby-Doo to create a fan-and family classic. 46-episode, complete series collection.

Great memories flood back
A nicely packaged, simple release of the show that had me transfixed at 9 years old.

80’s Flashback!
This was my favorite show at one point. There weren’t too many episodes, but the DVD is keeping it alive for another generation to enjoy!

Hanna Barbera with added cuteness!
Typical super hero type show where cuddly characters save the day yet live in anonymity....there's a sassy panda, a strong tiger, a smart raccoon, an orangutan who talks like Humphrey Bogart and a sweet shy mole....as usual there is the human Mr. Dingle character who looks after the park but doesn't know "his" animals are the Shirt Tales super heroes who help people and animals...words they say or think flash on their bellies of their shirts---hence the name...they also have a young kangaroo named Kip that joins them eventually...enjoyed it in the 80s and kids enjoy it now, but be prepared to be asked to buy the plush counterparts that Hallmark reissued if your kids fall in love with them, lol!

Finally they are here!
I have looked EVERYWHERE for the Shirt Tales! I am so glad that Amazon have put them out and have added them to my collection which now includes Gummi Bears and Captain Caveman :) Essentially it is a cutesy cartoon set of 3 discs, that I feel is similar to Scooby Doo at times. I played the dvd's for a 7 and 9 year old who also loved them, in fact they asked for them the next time they came to visit. A piece of my childhood that I was happy to be able to share and enjoy. This is as good a quality as you can expect considering it's now being played on a large HD TV and the kids didn't seem to mind it not being sharp. I am so happy to own it that I can forgive that it is not the same quality as the modern day cartoons.

I must have for kids of all ages
I loved this cartoon when I was a little kid I used to have a poster of these characters on my bedroom door and have been looking for this collection for years and I am so glad that Amazon was able to provide it at an excellent price and I was even more pleased to watch it all over again

Brought back childhood memories
I absolutely loved this series when I was a child, so naturally I was excited to see them on DVD. Maybe I'm old/old fashioned but I can't stand 95% of the cartoons today, I can't stand the new technology, the so called storylines, etc. haha, I know, I know, grow with the times. But there's just something about the way older cartoons look and deliver. Plus, this was my childhood, so it's nice to enjoy them with my kids, nieces, and nephews. For what it is, the discs are a great quality. I hope more cartoons of that was get released. I highly recommend!

Shirt Tales is a Hanna Barbera production from the early 1980s
Shirt Tales is a Hanna Barbera production from the early 1980s. It has the same animators as from the 70's. The main characters are a Panda, Racoon, Monkey, Ground Hog, Tiger and Kangaroo. They mainly solve mysteries like a lot of H-B cartoons, the mysteries are easy to understand and less monsters like Scooby Doo. Their shirts flash different words throughout the show, depending on what is happening. Also, the series is based from Hallmark greeting cards from that time. The DVD's are DVD-R and 'Made On Demand', the picture is as good as normal DVD and is made and shipped just as fast. I would recommend this and other Hanna Barbera Made on Demand DVD's.

ITS SHIRT TALES TIME
This has always been a Hanna Barbara top favorite of mine as a child. While I always wish the series would of done a episode that actually introduce Kip to the team instead of suddenly having her there in season 2 it is a great classic HB toon with all the elements. Part Scooby Doo Part Batman the Shirt Tales are crime fighters working under the orders of the commissioner and have to sneak out of the city park past the ranger to solve the mysteries and crimes since nobody but animals seem to know their true identity. The series have two different opening sequences each of which i never tire of watching

Just a copy
Great show but I wish it was the original and not a burnt copy from Amazon. I hate finding out later that is it just a copy. They scratch so easy.
