Pretty sturdy stapler
My coworker brought in this stapler to work and it worked really well but ended up dying. So she went and bought another stapler that was made by the same company and which was complete garbage because we went through two of them. They broke within months. So I decided to go and get her another one of the good ones since it worked well. Expensive? Yes, but totally worth it if you are looking for a quality stapler.I've had it for a year now and the stapler is still up and working perfectly fine and it is constantly being used. The only issue I have with it is when the staples run down to less than five they sometimes won't staple properly and just puncture through the page, but it's a very miniscule problem.

Piece of Junk
I have had Swingline commercial staplers in my office for 10 years - this model is NOT an improvement on the previous models which have typically lasted for well over a year. 4 months into using this particular model and I have had to take it apart 5 times for jammed staples because the staple magazine will not release if there is a jam. Today a staple broke in the staple head and once again, the magazine will not release so I can remove it, rendering the thing completely useless. I will never purchase a Swingline product again.

Very good stapler. Our company went trough a few electric staplers over the years and most of the others broke after about 6- 12 months. We bought this stapler about 16 months ago and is still working. The only problem we have is that the knob that ejects the stapler magazine in front to add staples broke. Is not really broke but is not holding the screw so is notable to open the staples cartage and is turning on empty I don't understand !!! They make a heavy duty commercial stapler built out the metal and the knobs out of plastic???

This stapler is excellent!
I really like this stapler. There's not much to adjust, it's very stable on my desk, and it hasn't jammed yet! It was larger than I expected, but so easy to load in the front. It's pretty quiet too-very important in an office with others. It was recommended to me, and I would happily recommend it to others.

Meh.
After using it for about a year at work, it's just OK. It can staple 2 or 3 sheets of paper fine, but any more than that and the staple won't go through the paper and gets wiggly. I've tried standard staples and the recommended Swingline ones -- no difference. There is also no low-staples light, so at some point it will just stop putting staples in and you have to figure out if it's jammed or out of staples. On the plus side it hasn't actually broken or gotten so jammed that it couldn't be fixed.

Stapler
If you are stapling papers all day long, don't waste your time or money on the Optima model, They do not last past 1 yr. Have had 3 that we replaced. Spend the money and purchase this one. Heavy Duty, I have one on my desk that I have had for about 25 yrs. and never an issue.

Great while it lasted... Only 4 months before it broke.
Love this stapler. I work in an environment where I use it all day every day. However, only 4 months of using this, the stapler is now broken. The release mechanism got stuck and when I was finally able to get it out, the entire tray which holds the staples flung out and now I can't do anything with it.

Achilles Heel
This would be a five-star stapler, aside from one problem. The staple tray release mechanism is faulty. The staple tray release knob is attached to a metal rod, which passes through a plastic part that releases the staple tray when twisted. This plastic part is attached to the metal rod using nothing but two molded plastic bumps, which have worn away leaving the rod to spin freely. Nine months after purchasing, the staple tray no longer can be opened to reload staples, leaving this Swingline Model 67 as nothing but an expensive paper weight due to cheap plastic components.
