Review: Works well on both metric and standard, but a slight warning... - I bought this for sharpening some frequently used metric drill bits. It sharpens fast and the sharpening stones seems to be decent quality. It's fairly simple to use, but the instructions aren't super clear. My warning is that it will take a lot of material off of your bits quickly, so start with the grinding head all tje way down and SLOWLY bring it up until you hear the disc touch the bit and start grinding. Then, rotate it left and right and take it out, check it, adjust the grinding disc up like 1/8th of a turn, and then do it again. You'll get the hang of it quickly. It's smaller than and Drill Doctor and is a better value, imho.

I bought this for sharpening some frequently used metric drill bits. It sharpens fast and the sharpening stones seems to be decent quality. It's fairly simple to use, but the instructions aren't super clear. My warning is that it will take a lot of material off of your bits quickly, so start with the grinding head all tje way down and SLOWLY bring it up until you hear the disc touch the bit and start grinding. Then, rotate it left and right and take it out, check it, adjust the grinding disc up like 1/8th of a turn, and then do it again. You'll get the hang of it quickly. It's smaller than and Drill Doctor and is a better value, imho.
