GMB 130-1260P High Performance Series Water Pump with Gasket

These are great Water Pumps. The pump is not Black. The Black ones are a Cast Iron pump which is very heavy, rusts and is a standard pump.The GMB 130-1260P is an aluminum light weight, high performance pump that can help cure overheating. This is the same type pump that Olds Specialty Stores sell for well over one hundred. They just grind off the GMB on the casting.These are extremely hard to find. The big four Auto Parts houses in my area "Never Heard Tell Of Such"... when I asked for this pump by part number!I buy extras for back, as who knows when they might stop making this pump for a motor that they quit making almost 40 years ago.A Big Block Olds 425 - 455 with an Aluminum intake, Heads and this GMB Pump weights allot less than a stock small block Chevy, which can easily make 400 HP and 500 lb. ft. of torque and get close to 20 MPG with a 200-4R overdrive transmission.

Lightweight as possible as it can get (my '82 Toronado with the 307 had a cast iron one which I guess dials in at a couple of kilograms, or more), and also with one more blade to aid on the cooling process.Nice finish on this grey pump which gives it a quality look that, I think, cannot be matched by other similar brands inside this price range. A price range I opted for because this is as good as I can get for this particular car.

Replaced an original 1976 with this aluminum water pump. Old one was still working, but making some bearing noises at various rpm. This one seems to be holding temperature the same after installing, which is adequate for the application. No regrets on this pump for a 455 in an old truck that doesn't see much hard work. Time will tell, but you can't beat it at the price point.

I was looking for a high volume water pump to compensate for overheating problems inherent in an Oldsmobile 403 engine. With this pump my engine runs great and stays at optimum operating temp.
