Kodansha's Furigana Japanese-English Dictionary (Kodansha Dictionaries)

Need larger print.
Nice dictionary that forces me to use the Japanese syllabary. Only thing, I wish this came in a Large-Print edition because the furigana is terribly small. I need a bigger magnifying glass!

More useful than expected
I bought this book at the same time as the Kodansha Kanji Learner's Dictionary, with the intent of moving my studying off of my phone (and away from distractions). I'd worried that only having the J->E direction would be a problem, but between the two I can usually remember enough of the Japanese word I'm looking for (either a piece of the kanji, or enough of the word, or a synonym I don't want to use) to actually find what I'm looking for 90% of the time. It's also forced me to think a little bit more and a little harder when I look things up, which makes me feel like I'm learning more. I may still pick up the E->J half as well, since I'm finding this one so much more useful than I'd expected, but I'm missing it far less than I expected.

Good Japanese-English dictionary to have
If you want to find a Japanese-English dictionary, this is the one. However, the only drawback is there is no pitch accent mark in the dictionary. Overall, it is a very good dictionary though.

Overall, a pretty nice one
This is my first Japanese-English dictionary and since I bought it I've been using it a lot. It has examples for the words and no romanji at all (which is good in my opinion, even for first year learners like myself). If I could improve it though, I would definitely add the type of words the dictionary offers (adj., noun etc) as I find it rather useful especially for verbs and their 3 categories which is important information as I see it. But it has a big range of words and overall it has helped me a lot so far.

Great Japanese/English Dictionary
I have an older dictionary that is furigana, but didn't have all of the words that I needed. My friend purchased this dictionary and after taking a look at it, was very happy with the amount of words. It's easy to look up and like the fact that it's used with Hiragana, Katakana or Kanji instead of Romaji. I also like how it also has an example of how the word is used in a sentence.

For Japanese students
I'm studying Japanese and I needed a good dictionary. My teacher recommended this one and it is very good.Especially because I can see not only the meaning of the word in English but also the meaning of a Kanji in Hirgana.

Best with the reciprical
A pretty good dictionary if you are going from reading Japanese and need to know the English equivalent. You should have the other Kodandsh Furigana if you want to check the Japanese equivalent of an English word. Both versions are quite complete for typical use.

Good but could be more...
I was a bit concerned about this but words are all written in large print hiragana with a kanji reading next to them (maybe I missed that in the description). As much as I'd like to give 5 stars I do think it could be a bit more comprehensive however since I still find myself using the internet to look up words (which I consider quite common) quite often. Overall though it's good based on the price and alternatives.

Very helpful for looking up words in Japanese.
Originally bought this as my Japanese teacher recommended it to me during my studies in university. Great companion to anyone studying Japanese.
