Climbing Malabar Spinach 100 Seed ( Hot Mong To) by Nga'S Garden

I'm in central North Carolina. I planted these seeds way back in April or maybe even late March, and they sprouted within a week, and then grew to about three inches and stayed that way for probably six weeks. It wasn't until the weather got really hot and muggy that this vine took off. I now have several thriving plants growing up my trellis. I'd say some of the vines are approaching eight feet long by now. I planted some in a very deep bed that is on an automated irrigation, and others in an 8-10" deep pot that got intermittent watering, and they are all happy. I ordered both the green stem and the red stem varieties, and they are equally thriving. The leaves grow up to 10" across or more, and are very succulent. All I have done with them so far is chop up a few and throw them into things such as salads, or one time I threw it in at the end of cooking a curry. So nice to have a leafy vegetable that is still edible and in fact delicious after weeks of hot summer weather.
