Excelente album

This 3 CD set has great quality sound and the first 2 cds are songs by Elvis and there are no previously unreleased tracks but for some there are probably a few tracks or versions that they might not have. The 3rd CD are tracks not by Elvis and is a good compilation and contains "Home Sweet Home " sung by his mother Gladys which I have not heard before. There is a nice soft cover booklet. The packaging could be better as the CD's slot into the card case and you have to be careful to get them out without damaging the packaging. In the notes in the booklet the director writes "it was Priscilla Presley who gave us the special emotional access that allowed us to reach into these songs and really explore their worlds. I thank her for this privilege" so it is very clear that Elvis's ex wife had a large input into the documentary and the views of some others has continued to be ignored.

If you can find a bigger Elvis fan on here, please point me in their general direction. But even I have to admit that Sony have dropped the ball with this one. The track list is all over the place, it doesn't flow, and there's much too much of an eclectic mix (and a variation in sound quality) for the average punter. If it's aimed at fans then why no unreleased material? And if it's aimed at the general public then trust me, they aren't going to be putting this on repeat any time soon. As for disc 3, if I never hear it again then I'll be perfectly fine with that. I thought I had a varied taste in music (and I do, take my word for it) but some of the stuff on here is dismal. It's an exercise in showing off, nothing more. It's like the most pretentious mix tape ever compiled, guaranteed to send your potential lover running for the nearest exit.
