This product is indeed a great idea, being able to flush the dirt out as needed. I could not resist and picked it up (50 micron) and installed it and it filtered sediment right away. In three days I noticed the water pressure dropping. I opened the flushing valve and immediately noticed there was no "spin down" activity. Water was going into the drain at full speed and I could not get the dirt off the filter. Finally, I opened the casing and hand washed the filter and the pressure was back up. I took the filter off, I noticed the steel mesh was supported by a plastic structure inside with bigger holes, meaning the area that was not holes were covering the pores on the steel mesh. The plastic structure essentially appeared to reduce the surface area of the steel mesh substantially, meaning the steel mesh gets filled up faster, in addition to the whole apparatus being so small. Instead of blaming and just assuming, I contacted the company and realized after a long wait that there will not be any response. This product is a brilliant idea looking for a solution. Because I spent time and money on it, I just want it to win. Yes, that is a thing with gadget junkies! Physics does not add up and I regret buying it and frustrated having to wash it manually every few days. Yes, it was a failure and poor judgment on my part.

I added this filter to an Express Water Heavy Metal Filtration System based upon recommendations of reviewers of several makes of filter systems. I was amazed how much water is released from the clean out sessions of the spin out mechanism. Based on recommendations I opted for the 50micron filter. I am filtering well water that tested for high water hardness (425 ppm), and negative for other targeted problems. The filtered water has brought good tasting and clear and clean water to our house. I chose the spin down filter with the Siliphos to reduce scaling. It is located in front to the 3 part filtering system, and an ISpring Electronic Descaler is added after the 3 part system. The ISpring spin down filter is an integral part of a system I am completely pleased with.

Seems perfect so far (just got it) and if I don't update this with criticism it means it's working great. Suggestion to seller/manufacturer: Alter the product picture so it's clear that the siliphos balls in it have been magnified and the viewer knows that in fact they are small and not easy to see. I had to walk mine up and out of the basement and hold it up to a well lit window to spot them after first thinking I received the model without the balls. Otherwise thanks for what seems like a very high quality product!

Isn’t big enough for whole house use as a prefilter. I clean this filter about every 3-4 days pending what the well picks up. Opening the valve doesn’t flush the filter clean, have to disassemble, rinse and reassemble; not difficult. I’d like to see one of these about 4 times this size and engineered to actually flush the filter by just opening the valve.

My well water was full of sediment. After installing this, the bigger stuff gets filtered out. The drainage pipe makes it easy to flush the filter and clean it. It should make my water softener last much longer.

Use this to filter sediment from my well water before it goes into the house. The flush out feature makes it easy to clean. The clear glass container makes you happy you have it when you see all the "stuff" it collects.

Super easy to install. Replaced a water softener system with a salt free system. Installed this as the first filter from my water source. Valve is convenient for flushing any sediment.

Works great and easy to clean. Great addition to our whole home system. Makes the whole home system filters last longer.
