Great Multipurpose Drill/Driver for Light Use
I've been impressed by the quality and value of all of Skil's PwrCore 20V line that I've tried, and this is no exception. The models with brushed motors (like this drill) are less expensive, but still impressive tools that I'd expect to hold up fine for consumer or light-duty professional use, while the brushless versions could hold their own against the big names. This particular hammer drill is great for drilling small holes in concrete and masonry with SDS bits, but also works with ¼" hex bits and drivers. It's a compact and versatile tool that can outperform any hammer drill in masonry and still be used to drive the screw in afterwards. Pick up an SDS mounted chuck to work with regular bits and you can easily drill through wood and drywall as well. I used to work in IT, and I really would have liked to have had a tool like this that is as easy to carry around as any other cordless drill but wouldn't struggle at all to drill the occasional mounting hole in a brick wall.So this isn't a heavy-duty SDS rotary hammer for making ½"+ holes in concrete all day long, but it is a great tool for small holes in concrete and masonry that can comfortably pull double duty as a driver. If you could probably get by with a hammer drill and some patience, this will be an amazing improvement for you.

Sturdy, good motor, great brand
The media could not be loaded. I have a Milwuakee 6 piece M18 set that I've had for about 3 years and it's served me well. Unfortunately both XC batteries were about shot and the impact motor was burnt up; the driller driver/hammer drill was about there as well. I was looking at more than $300 to replace them.Just in the nick of time, Skil decided to release their new 12V & 20V series. I chose the 20V for the extra power. When I found they had a rotary drill with a charger and batter for $110 I had to try one. I work for Dish Network as a sub-contractor and I drill through masonry a lot. One of the biggest hassles I had was drilling through glazed brick. This tool has easily solved that problem. To say the least I no longer see a need for a hammer drill. They have their place for making small holes in concrete and mortar.I bought the 4 piece tool kit plus the rotary drill with another batter and charger for less than $300. I now have all the tools I had with Milwaukee for way less, and it's more affordable when I need to replace something. I'll also add that cordless rotary drills are not cheap unless you go with a no name brand or Ryobi. I have always liked Skil saws (before they became a Wal-Mart tool although now they're back on their own) and I hope that I can continue to enjoy them. This is an SDS plus and SDS compatible drill. You can also use 1/4" hex bits but they have to be a certain length to get past the chuck housing. I use inexpensive harbor freight masonry bits as hitting rebar, angle iron, and other metal objects will destroy my bits. They are the only bits I buy from them besides the ship augers. They do a good job, they just don't cut as fast.It drills through masonry and concrete very smoothly and I don't have to push hard at all. It doesn't spin very fast at max trigger pull, which it's not supposed to as slower is better. So far I've only used my 3/16" and 1/2" bits. One of these days I will try out the 3/4" to see if it can do it. I just haven't found the opportunity yet. It's compact and feels good in the hand. I prefer the second handle built into the house instead of a removable one. It has a nice variable speed triggle. The switch for drill/screw and rotary/hammer is solid and has a nice click. The only thing that is a little disconcrerning is there is no Chuck adapter for using regular drill bits. Not a huge deal though as I have a drill/driver that I use for the other stuff.UPDATE: I was able to use a 3/4" masonry bit today with the drill. I didn't do any pilot holes with a smaller bit. It was a little slow but handled it well. It was still faster than using a hammer drill.

Not for me, low power for 20v (or 18v)
Overall build quality seems fine for the low price point (3 generous stars). However, this is one of the lowest power 18v/20v sds-plus rotary hammers available, but it could be acceptable for light duty use. Manufacturers stated capacity is 7/16" in concrete, the smallest rotary hammer number I've seen for an 18v/20v system. It has a correspondingly low rated impact force (.7 ft.lb.). Also, there is no "hammer only" (chisel) mode, while about every other rotary hammer has this feature. On the plus side, it does accept hex bits as well as sds-plus. I decided to go with another brand ($40 more) since I wanted increased power (1.3 ft.lbs.), the ability to use as a chisel in hammer only mode, and because I already have multiple 18v batteries for the other brand. In summary, even considering the lower price, I feel it's better to spend a bit more for a more powerful tool.

This little drill has a variable speed control -forward/reverse LED indicators -led work light with pre-light and after-glow -bit storage -belt clip -power core 20V Lithium Battery: -green LED fuel gauge. Video oh how this drill performs coming soon.

Quit searching the big brand names, here’s the hammer drill for you
I’ve used Milwaukee cordless SDS hammer drills, Dewalts SDS, and Bosch SDS cordless, this hammer drill is comparable I thought especially if you’re just doing drop in anchors, or wedge anchors. If you want something light weight and don’t want to drag cords, this is a pretty good product.
