Efficient little can opener!
Edit: 7/17/22 just wanted to add my can opener is still going strong. I use it pretty regularly. 10/10 would reccomend. 😊I'm probably the only 20 year old that specifically looks for "older style" kitchen appliances. This can opener reminds me of the one my parents have. It's also a black & decker and probably from the 80s. I loved it because all I had to do was push a button.I have been using a handheld can opener since I moved away because it was the cheapest option, but after spending 20 minutes struggling to get it to work right and open up a can after maybe 5 good uses gave up and ordered an electric one.I love this. Super easy to use and clean. I also like how it doesn't take up a lot of space on my counter and how the cord can be hidden up inside of it. Also like the bottle opener! I didn't realize it came with one.

Works well
After perusing all the reviews of competing can openers, this one got the nod. It's good. Pop the can under the levered top piece and press. The can is grabbed by the magnet and turns to open. The cord can be stored underneath if you don't want to leave it plugged in.If you have hand problems (I'm apparently getting two kinds of annoyances now that I'm a senior citizen, carpal tunnel and arthritis) then this helps. My other can openers that are manual work, but can be painful some days.(PS if your manual opener seems to stop working, clean the blade with an old toothbrush. The accumulated gum from labels and gunk from the can usually are the problem.)

Not good for heavy cans
Works well except for heavier cans. You will need to support the bottom of the can with you hand or it will fall off and spill the contents of the can all over the counter.

Nice and tall and easy to use.
Very sturdy can opener. Well made and easy to use. My wife does not have much strength in her hands, yet she finds this opener easy to load and to operate. We replaced our Oster because it was not. This opener is tall and will open tall and oversized cans as well. like cans of peppers or sweet yams. Magnet works great and catches the can top each time and the opener holds the can in place as well. It came with a handy dandy bottle/ring pull soda opener as well. A nice little extra gift. I recommend and would give this as a gift. Even to a family member. LOL..

WORKS WELL
I can't believe how nice it is to have a can opener that works! This is easy to clean and operate. Inflation has "inflated" prices everywhere, but this was reasonably priced. Oh yes, it has a knife sharpener on the backside and it works well and also has a slit to fit the handheld bottle opener, on the backside too. Nicely designed...

Sometimes can bed difficult to position the can
It almost seems that electric can openers are like unicorns--very difficult to find. This can opener was purchased for a classroom kitchen, and there is a learning curve to position the can for opening. Once you position the can it will run automatically until it is finished opening that can. Then all you do is lift the lever while holding the can. The can is released and the built in magnet will pull up the lid.Careful when handling the lid as it has sharp edges.Funny story: The instructor told one of the students to clean the can opener and put it over by the sink. She looked over and the student had at least unplugged it, but had placed the entire unit in a sink of soapy water. We thought it was ruined, but after drying over the weekend, it still works. Guess you could say it is fully cleanable, but I wouldn't recommend this method.

Really horrible appliance
This appliance is really a piece of crap, and I really wanted it to be good. I read reviews prior to buying. It wouldn't latch to cans easily and securely, wouldn't cut the metal lids, just shredded paper labels and lots of other shredding (so not sure if little metal shards would get into the food when finally opened). Not easy to use at all, very disappointed. Do not buy. I wound up not using it and missed my window to return it. I wouldn't even sell it at a garage sale. I'm just throwing it out at this point (unless they see this review and let me return for a refund).
