Turn your wheel ( on the right of the machine) towards you to make the needle go up and down. In doing so it will travel under the feed dogs ( those bits that move the fabric back and forth)and collect the bobbin thread. Watch it carefully and you will see this happen. Then get a scissor or tweezer and gather both threads from under the needle and put them towards the back of the machine, so they trail behind the needle.
