Old Mountain 8 in X 1.75 in Skillet

I bought the 8-3/4" and 6-1/2" skillets and am very happy with them. I am 83 and had used cast iron kettles/skillets for many years before teflon. Of course, when the newer technology came on the scene and we were supposed to now have stick-free cooking utensils, I bought some. I put away my Grandmother's old cast iron 10-1/2" skillet and large kettle, but did not discard them. After buying and discarding the newer utensils because they kept failing, I am back happily using my cast iron again, and I love it! Properly cared for these cast iron products can outlast generation after generation.

There is no way this is a 8-in pan 8 in it's a lot bigger than what they sent me but this thing's little it would barely hold two eggs cooking them that's just crazy eight inch pan should be bigger than that. So I got the tape measure and I measured it from the top of it it's 8 in but when you turn the pan over the bottom of the pan is not quite 6 in so to me that's deceitful the pan is actually only 6 inches.

It is the perfect size for cornbread for two people and worked perfectly on the very first use. It is now known as "my little cornbread pan."

The ad for this skillet says 8" x 1 3/4." That should mean 8" across the bottom by 1 3/4" deep. However, it is 4 1/2" across the bottom by 1" deep. You cannot use this teeny tiny skillet for any cooking. If I can hold it in my hand, you know it's too small for any stove burners. Had to return it.

The skillet was really good quality. Liked the way it cooked.

I actually searched this company out and only buy my cast iron from Old Mountain. They’re the best.

ordered 8 inch received 4 inch...rip off hard for me to send back....bad deal
