Kava Tonga #1 Noble Tongan Kava, Pure Kava (8oz)

Pretty good Kava.Im a connoisseur of Kava and have been for quite a few years.I usually get my kava from other vendors and sites "BKH, GHK, etc"But Id say this ones pretty fair.Feels pretty noble, little on the lighter headier affects and thats what you get with Tongan varieties.Much better then that cheaper 1lb bag of VANUATU variety thats heavily sold on AmazonTo be fair, I dont like Vanuatu varieties as the uoset my stomach and give me that muscle weakness lethargic feeling.This one gives you that light "tong" feelingA bit zoned out on your hobbies, music, work whatevs.Give it a shot!

Have become a huge kava fan within the past year, use it primarily for mood-elevating effects and pain relief....I am a devotee of the "heady" strains rather than the "heavy" strains, the former being best used for daytime activities and enjoyed mainly when seeking stimulation. Tongan kava is supposedly one of the most potent "heady" strains, and I have seen it recommended on the various boards. But it is not that widely available, and this was the first time I encountered it. So I immediately snapped up a bag, and was very excited when it arrived. It was a let down. It smelled and tasted quite strong, but the serving size (1 oz) suggestion was actually almost twice that of the other kavas I use (1-2 tblsps) I ended up going through the bag way too fast....It gave me modest painkilling effects (I have chronic spine problems), even though this was not what I was seeking from this strain, and other than that, made me a bit more alert....But I felt almost no sense of well-being like I regularly experience from other kavas. Another unsought effect experienced---(which wasnt, actually a negative) was noticeable appetite suppression! I always drink kava on a stomach that has been empty for 4 plus hours, and with this I found myself going another three barely thinking about food (I have been trying to curb what I eat, so this was a benefit)...but I drink kava for energy, and the improvement of my mood, and for this the product was a wash...I do not recommend...

This was my first time trying kava, I thought it would be more like tea. It's not, needs to be prepared with room temp water, can't be heated, it tastes bad, very bitter, and it's such a hassle to prepare. It does not come with a strainer either. I have had to use a coffee filter, and it takes forever to prepare, especially since it's room temperature. If this can be turned into tea bags and used in hot water, it wouldn't be so bad. But the experience is not enjoyable, drinking, room temp, bitter water. The effects are slightly noticeable, I get a little light headed while drinking it, and it numbs my mouth. I possibly felt happier after, hard to tell if it's a placebo effect or not.

The flavor was mild with mild mouth numbing. The effects were also mild compared to Kavafied or Kalm with Kava products.I got some neck stiffness each time I drank it and also what would seem to be kidney pain. And slight nausea.I have tried this 3 different days and each time it has been the same. Also had to take 3 tablespoon doses 3 separate times and rinsed 3 times in the Aluball before I had really any noticeable effect.Not a long time user of Kava but have tried a couple of brands and I am not impressed with this one.

A few things: I had two servings of 4 TBSP each of this kava and nada. I’m a kavaficionado so it’s not the preparation. It’s just weak kava. It also tastes super strange. That may be how it is, but I’ve never tasted kava like this. It tastes spicy... weirdly, like pepper jack cheese. It made me nauseous.

I have had countless different brands and kinds of kava, this stuff gets a B+ from me. The taste is not too offensive, it’s effect is noticeable, kind of a mildly sleepy euphoria as Tongan chemotype is known for. Definitely heady rather than heavy like vanuatuan or waka kava.

I have bought and drank many different types of kava from reputable vendors. I bought this one twice so far. Smooth flavor, mouth numbing, energetic/focus kava

I've tried many kavas in this price range. This is by far the best. Smooth flavor. Good amount of numbness and the effect is pretty 50/50 nice and heady but a good amount of body relaxation. Make it the traditional way. I love my little cheesecloth bags.
