Quite a good guide to Berlin
It was not as good as the Boston guide which I would give 5* to. Not being a German speaker I found some aspects confusing like Museumsincel until I actually arrived at Museum island itself. It also lacked detailed information on Berlin's very good public transport network. I don't recall seeing much on the the 3 train systems and the excellent bus network. However it was very good at identifying the must see sights. It ought to have advised anyone coming for a few days to take a City bus tour (get a 2 day pass and hop and off) and a boat tour on the river Spree.

very useful
We recently visited Berlin and this guidebook was well worth taking with us. Good advice on what to visit and how to get there, bus routes etc, where to eat. However the enclosed map was poor and also didn't cover enough of Berlin. Also 2 disappointed animal lovers visited Berlin Zoo expecting to see the panda Bao Bao...to discover he had died in August 2012 more than 6 months before the Guide's pulication date! So there may well be other mistakes too.

Very glad I bought this...
before travelling to Berlin. I had considered relying on wikitravel and other online sources but this book was really handy to carry around and had some great reviews. I used this along side trip advisor and in the 6 days we were there got through all the good stuff the city has to offer.

A must have!
As with all the Lonely Planet books, they are well worth buying for any trip you have planned. We always buy one when we go away and they prove invaluable for getting the most out of your trip; and for finding your way around. The maps are always very handy and there's always a great selection of trips and places to eat.

Great for my Berlin Trip
Great little book for Berlin - the map was probably the most useful thing. This is the first travel guide i have purchased in about 5 years, as most information you can find online about destinations, but im glad i purchased this - the information is simple when you want it to be, and the in depth sections are great for further reading.

A lot of the book is out of date
The bits that are relevant are good but eg even our hotel isn't even in the book, the hotel we stayed at is very prominent, the Waldorf Hotel which I can recommend for a fantastic stay in berlin the book defiantly needs updating.

Excellent Guide
We found this book invaluable on our recent trip to Berlin. Very informative and with clear and precise instructions to get to places would recommend any Lonely Planet Guide.
