sky DRX890 500 GB Plus HD Box with RF1 and RF2 Outputs (Renewed)

My old box had been playing up for some time and finally gave up. I don't want to go onto Sky Q and so bought this replacement refurb. I think this was great value for money, gives a much better picture than the old box for some reason and more modern menus. This was smaller, more compact than my old box, was very easy to hook up and worked immediately once twinned with my viewing card. That was easy to do also from the menus on the new box. Delighted with this purchase.

The sky box came very clean and almost like new. Installed fine without any issues. The only thing i did notice it was well wrapped up, as it was unpacked the smell of cleaner was strong maybe wrapped straight after cleaning maybe but this was minor and just waited 15 mins or so to air. overall very pleased with it so far.

The box arrived as expected & on time. I was expecting to be able to plug in, switch on, pair the card & start watching. Unfortunately the software needed upgrading, then l found that the hard drive was 70% full going back to 2016 & loads of stuff in the scheduled & deleted sections. It took some time, but eventually after upgrading the software through Sky & managing to erase & rebuild the second hand / used hard drive all was well. Now working well & good value for just under £40. Remote was a bit dodgy, so still using my original remote.

Replacement refurbished box for an older version that gave up working. Simple to install. Clear instructions. Worked out of the box. After a few days of use noticed there was a problem with the recording of programmes, technical faults. Contacted the supplier of box. They were surprised and asked me to reset the box and update the software. Did both but the fault still was there. They then sent a replacement box that arrived in 3 days. Straight forward swap over and all is working and recording. No hassles no quibbles. Great service.

Sky plus HD box. Arrived before due date and well packed. Installation went well and the box is working as expected. It is obvious that the box is reconditioned but it is acceptable. The one year guarantee is a good facility but I hope it will continue to operate for a much longer period. In my opinion a good purchase

Over the past 6 months the box has been playing up. Firstly it as just freezing, this wasn’t a problem as we turned it off then back on again. Over time the recordings cancelled, now we have problems turning the box on. Tonight has been the last straw, the picture just froze. We turned the box off and on several times, but were unable to watch what we recorded. We turned the box off for over an hour and now we can now watch the programmes. This is not a year old ,so we will be requesting a replacement as we are not happy.

Bought this to replace the out of date Sky box I had in my kitchen, it connected perfectly, is easy to use, would definitely recommend

I like this new sky box as I can do more,such as demand and catchup. The only problem I find is the sound quality not as good as previous box. I am having to have it nearly on full . My previous box I could have the sound on 25/32 now its on nearly full blast.
