MakitaP-70312 Dust Extracting Flooring Set, 8-Piece

I am mainly using this kit and a Makita VC4710 to clean my house. To address the previous reviews, 1-1/4" attachments, including the ones included in this kit, fit the trough in the back of my Makita VC4710 fine. Some attachments you can secure using half of the circular pegs in the trough (there are cutouts in the 12 and 6 o'clock locations). In any case, there is so much room in there you can pretty much throw a bunch of attachments into the space.As for putting together the flooring set, it's pretty much a no-brainer. Everything is a secure, slip fit, no sloppy connections. The inlet end of the wand goes very securely into the VC4710 inlet hose, almost 6" of connectivity, and the friction fit is very solid so the wand won't slip out.What I like about this kit is the quality construction. The wands are steel with a pretty decent gauge and good chrome plating. The connections are secure and won't slip. I was using a plastic SHOPVAC brand wand and those would crack where you attach the wands together. If you attach all the wands in this kit together, the length is something like 7 feet. I presume Makita did this because of industrial use so you get good reach. If you are a short person, you can get by with leaving one wand connection out.The floor attachment for carpets is high quality, not junk like the SHOPVAC stuff. My only complaint is the vacuum pull on the Makita VC4710 is so strong, it clamps the attachment to the floor even when the vacuum is set to 50% of full power. However on low pile carpeting, it really deep cleans it so I don't care. When you got this kind of suction power, you don't need a rotating beater brush.I did research on the SHOPVAC, Fein, Festool, and Nilfisk, and for the price, this Makita kit is the best deal for the money, and it includes a decent assortment of attachments. You could spend near $200 on the Festool flooring kit.

The Makita P-70312 Dust Extracting Flooring Set appears to be very well made. I purchased them for use with the Makita VC4710 12-gallon wet dry vacuum. The tools work as expected. The tools do not attach to the VC4710 hose very easily and I have found that using the chrome extension handle first (top of 3-segment extension tubes) and then attaching the tools works best. The floor cleaning attachment works very well on carpet and for picking up liquids. The only issue I have had is that the vacuum produces so much suction it can literally stick the floor tool to the hard surface being cleaned. One has to reduce the suction to get it to work better - minor gripe not much of an issue really. All in all this is a high quality tool set that should prove to be much more durable than competing all-plastic sets.

Item description was that it was repackaged without mention of damage. There was one extension that was bent on the end and wouldn't connect and a ding in the side of another. I gave the bent end a number of love taps and straightened it out enough to use. I'm unsure if it occurred during shipping or prior to that, but there are no others at that price and it is still usable and enhances the abilities of the Makita VC4210L dust extractor nicely. The weird D shaped piece (pipe holder as it's called) is not used on my system from what I found. I did locate instructions on a different Makita vac/ dust extractor that apparently uses it. That said, it's something to either hold onto as "it's part of the kit" or something to toss in the trash. I thought about modifying my VC4210L to make use of it but I don't think I will. I do wish the brush attachment was capable of tilting at a different angle to clean out light fixtures, but I will have to continue to use an attachment for the Dyson to do it. No biggie. The floor attachment seems to do a great job on hard flooring but I have to reduce the power to use it on carpet. Also not really an issue since it has plenty of suction. The flat blade could be larger, but it still works efficiently on small areas, like a sofa. The overall length is great and the angled end for the hose is just right for vacuuming floors for my height at about 6' tall. It also latches quite well to the hose connector and no dust seems to get by. Overall I'm pleased.

I have had this kit for 1 year now. We use this in a commercial flooring installation company. We abuse it!! It has held up great. I'm ordering another kit. we have used it so much we wore the plastic floor tool out. I wish I had the part number for a replacement tool, but I can't find it anyway. this kit works so well with the outstanding Makita dust extractor I have no problem replacing the kit every year. That's how much I like this kit! Just a side note.. I have used the Dewalt equivalent to this Makita extractor and tool kit. I would pay twice as much just to get the Makita.

I liked the vacuum floor set that came with Makita silica dust vac so much that when I saw this Makita floor set I had to buy it. I'm pleased. Good quality and rolls easily across the floors in my home.

Those was a pretty good deal. Recently I purchased the Makita dust extractor and wanted tool to go with it. Bought these with they system and they are a fantastic complement to the overall system. Myonly minor complaint is there is no button of something that would locks the accessories together. But otherwise they work great and for metal extensions, are and great value. I would buy again and recommend to my friends and family.

I love the vacuum cleaner. I dont know why this is not included with the vacuum not to mention the ridiculous price attached to it. the small flat suction attachment is already cracking from pushing it on the hose.Its barely a month old. Definitely not worth buying!!!!!!!
