A little on the flimsy side
A little on the flimsy side but still a great deal for the price.

Looks good and sturdy
Good looking mailbox. Sturdy and easy to install. The only negative is that if you don't have an overhang where the mailbox is mounted and get a driving rain it will leak inside. Overall it's a good mailbox especially for the price.

Great mailbox- to hard to do all 4 scews
We really like the mall box. It's great to have dry mail! We didn't take the time & effort to figure out (& measure) how to install four screws through our siding. It seems sturdy and has been working great for several months!

great looking mailbox
I really like my new mailbox. It has sleek lines and the black coated steel color goes with the other black features on my house. It was extremely easy to install, used a drill to make screw holes through my aluminum siding. I travel frequently so the locking feature was a must for me. I gave it only 4 stars instead of 5 due to the absence of some sort of locking hinge for the opening flap. If you have hands full and can only use 1 hand to open and reach in for your mail, the flap falls down onto your wrist everytime. A locking hinge would be a nice addition to this mailbox. However, you cant beat it for the price.

no wet mail, but probably just OK & a little more "spendy" than I had expected.
Pro:---has "double" top lids that seem to protect mail from wetness even in heavy rain (but I've only had it for about three weeks & we've only had one major storm during that time.) I have no overhang or roofing to cover or protect the opening of the mailbox.)---It's median price when you don't add in the cost for the required red mail pick-up flag.)Con:---Cost was about $34 bucks (median price, IMHO.) which is good; however, it appears that I will now have to buy some sort of notification item to put on it to let the mailman know I have outgoing mail. Upon research, I found that I will probably have to pay another $15 or $16 for the outgoing mail flag. Had I noticed that when I ordered this one, I would have certainly purchased a different mailbox---one that already had the red flag on it. Then my cost might have been less overall.---I had to have a neighbor install/attach it for me it since I have no tools & am additionally unable to reach where the mailbox needed to be placed. (Based on my inability to do anything that even remotely requires tools, I had to have an installation person do that for me, which also cost me a little more. However, I realize that that probably should not be a "ding" against the mailbox)OVERALL: --has median/reasonable price until you have to add some sort of outgoing mail notification --seems (so far) to keep mail dry even without overhang to protect it from weather. --can't comment on actual lock capability, but the key & locking system seems a little "flimsy" to me for daily or repetitive use median price until you consider a couple things above seems (so far) to keep mail dry even without overhang to protect it from weather. no red mail "going out" notification for mail man can't comment re lock capability

Mail is now protected.
After having a middle of the night mail box checker, I do not have to worry anymore.

Lockable mailbox
Bought this mailbox to have the locking feature. It does what it is supposed to do, but it could be a higher gauge metal to make it just a little bit more durable. I am actually happy with the mailbox for the price it was definitely worth the $37

Nice mail box but I have had issues
Got this mail box because friends of ours recommended it. We have only had it for a month. About two weeks after I mounted it, the pin/clip came loose from the left corner. I found the pieces and put it back together with the c clip. Today it happened again. I will have to modify this with a screw type set up as if I replaced it with the clip (which is lost now) I know it would just happen again. Otherwise, nice mail box.

Does the job, but handle with care
Pros: As roomy as desired and expected, easy to use lock, slot size will take a "handful" of mail, but not let it be fished out, the double flaps appear to be weather resistant, has drain holes in the bottom if dampness does intrude. (major storm obviously) can be left unlocked when expecting a larger package to be placed inside out of sight.Cons: The metal body was lighter/thinner than expected, the inner locking flap needs sponge spots like the lid (or a strip of plastic u-molding on the rim) to reduce the noisy bang when closed, a bit tricky to mount for just one person, requires a stubby driver to properly tighten the bottom screws, paint finish can be easily scuffed, not recommended for mounting on a "rough" stone veneer surface, goes best on flat wood or brick, has to opened to check on any contents. However, better than most, especially if you need to securely collect mail if away on vacation.Recommended.

Way too flimsy.....Waste of money buying this if you want a secure mailbox.
I was hoping this would be good, but it is too easy to bend open by hand.I stopped locking it so that it would stop getting bent open and break completely. End of the day I have nothing of value being mailed to me....at least not valuable to anyone but me.Either invest in a stronger box or just buy a box that doesn't lock.Super disappointed with how flimsy the metal is...it is barely thicker than a tin can.

Nice-looking, but a bit flimsy, and the lock mechanism is dangerous.
The first time I reached inside the mailbox, I realized how hazardous the lock is. It has a crudely-stamped metal hook to prevent the lid from being opened. The hook intrudes so far into the mailbox and has such sharp edges that it is clearly only a matter of time before someone gets a serious cut on their hand.We considered returning the product because of this defect, but there is no version of this mailbox without a lock, and we realized that it would be fairly easy to modify it to work better for us.It was easy to remove the lock and hook, but this left a round hole in the front of the mailbox. We found a decorative item to glue over the hole, which looks good and keeps the rain out.The lid hinges are very sloppy and they add to the flimsy feel of this product. The hinges allow about 1/8" of slop from side to side. While removing the lock, I added shims to the hinge pins to eliminate the side-to-side play. This also makes the mailbox feel more solid.I've referred a couple of times the the flimsiness of this product. To be specific, the sheet metal seems thinner than it should be. It's plenty strong enough to hold a newspaper and a few envelopes, but probably would need replacing if someone stumbled against it. The product description says that it is powder coated, but in photos on the Amazon page I see that the coating appears to be chipped, which makes it look more like paint. On the positive side, it's pretty nice looking, the price is attractive, and it's big enough to hold a broadsheet newspaper (full-width, folded twice top to bottom.)To summarize, I wouldn't recommend this mailbox unless you are OK with modifying it a bit to suit your needs.

Happy with the mailbox
It was time to replace my old mailbox. I spent months searching for a replacement and I finally settled on this one. I'm very glad I did. I had no problem installing it by myself, although it would have helped if someone had been around to hold it for me (but I was in a hurry). It hasn't been used yet so I don't know what the mailman will think of it but I'm very happy. The mailbox looks great. The capacity is at least twice that of the old one. I probably won't use the lock much but it seems very sturdy (like the mailbox itself) and it's good to know that the option is there.Update: The mailman likes it too
