Why is the rbs50 so expensive compared to the ac3000 set with 2 of them in the package, plus the router?

Because Netgear wants you to throw in and extra $100-$150 buy another 3 pack with a router just to get extra satellites. They move more inventory and make more money. A pricing analyst came up with on their end which most likely makes them more $$ at scale.
