Mighty Vibe Spotify and Amazon Music Player - Bluetooth & Wired Headphones - 1,000+ Song Storage - No Phone Needed - Black

After fighting for a couple of years with the music feature of my Garmin 654m and AfterShokz headphones, I considered replacing the watch with the latest Garmin music model. But the tracking features that I use on the watch (running, biking, kayaking) work very well. The problem was that the connection between the watch and my headphones would drop, usually during a run. The only way to reestablish the link was to power down both devices, which during a run is annoying at best. I wanted a device that would sync my Spotify Premium account, as that is what I use for my playlists. I was pleased to find the Mighty Vibe that has such a feature. And at less than $100, much less expensive than replacing the whole watch. I received the unit, charged it, loaded the app on my (Android) mobile phone and connected easily. I synced several playlists to the unit after linking it to my Spotify account. The only issue I encountered was a bit of trouble getting the headphones to connect. I think this is more of an issue with the AfterShokz BT implementation though, as I had issues on other devices with these. Resetting the headphones, and being patient, allowed them to connect. Battery life is okay for the unit. I have taken it on two outings, playing around 60-90 minutes of music, and it shows 40% battery left at the end. I normally will not run longer than 60-90 minutes at a time, so for me this is sufficient. If you run for longer distances, this unit may not last your entire run. Sound is great, interface is easy to use, even clipped to my pocket. You can do all the things that are needed to skip or replay songs, change playlists, up/down the volume, etc. The unit is supposed to be rain and sweat resistant, but one feature that would have been nice to include would be a cover for the charging port to keep out any extra moisture. I have burned through many "sweat-proof" devices, so keeping as much liquid out of it as possible is my goal. I will find some plug to put in there probably. The app is good, not a lot of options needed. I don't see a way to rearrange your playlists without deleting them and adding them back in the order you want. You also cannot sync individual songs from a playlist, not a big deal for me. It does support all of your playlist items including the "Made for You" lists, plus podcasts, etc. You can resync all or a select number of playlists if needed. Sometimes the number of synced songs is not the same as the total number in your playlist. It is explained that Spotify sometimes restricts songs from being externally synced. So far, I am sold on this unit. I hope it holds up during the summer months. I bought the inexpensive extended replacement warranty just in case if it doesn't.

Got this because I love not bringing my phone around with me when I'm in the gym. My phone is bulky in my gym shorts, I once broke my screen dropping a weight on it, and using my phone between sets was distracting. This was a great way to avoid all of those issues. And for three months, the Vibe did it's job perfectly. As long as I charged it every night, it lasted my whole workput (1.5 hours or so). Occassionally, once every two weeks or so, it would give me the "spotify login expired" message and not be able to playback, but I just chalked that up to not using the app every now and then to make sure my playlist was synced. But suddenly, the Vibe pretty much stopped working altogether. I had an injury that didn't allow me to workout for a couple of months, so I didn't use it much for about 3 months. When I got back in the gym and back to using my Vibe, it frustrated me to the point of ruining my workouts. The device would play for about a minute and a half before restarting, and would do this continuously for hours. Minute and a half of playback, minute to restart, minute of a half of playback, etc. Even while charging, the device would only stay on for that minute and a half, preventing me from syncing with my phone or sending an error report. So finally in mid-November, I sent an issue report to the company. And I thought the device not working was the most frustrating part. What followed was nearly three months of sporadic replies, blaming my issues on lack of use (mind you, I've had an iPod nano for 12 years and it still works perfectly no matter how long I go in between using it), and overall a lack of help. Even when they finally said they would send me a new device, they originally offered me a refurbished product, even though mine was less than a year old and stopped working due to manufacturing error and not user error. I asked multiple times for a phone number for customer service since their e-mail responses were not helping, if they responded at all, and each time my request was completely ignored. Not even a "sorry, we do not have a customer service line." The owners of the company hide behind the customer service e-mail, and I'm sure none of these issues actually reach them. Do not buy this product. Awful quality, and even worse customer service. Better off setting $90 on fire; would be less of a waste of money.

I run 3-4 days per week and needed a boost in excitement. I've used my iPhone for music and GPS tracking...works well but it's bulky. So I did a search for Spotify players (didn't know such a thing existed!) and found the MIghty. I was hesitant about the 3.x rating but figured I could simply return if it proved to be junk. Well, I'm happy to report back that my first run (with Bluetooth earbuds) went well... I will say that it's a little tricky working with THREE apps on my phone to get everything working...Spotify, the Mighty app and then the app for my earbuds (Jaybird Vista). Add on top of that the bluetooth pairing of the earbuds back and forth - it was interesting. But it certainly works and works well...this is something I'll be using a lot of. Update 6/10/20 I'm looking for a replacement... Occasionally, as I'm headed out the door for a run I'll get a message tell me to reconnect with my phone/Spotify - to log on and refresh. That whole process can take 15+ minutes...just as I'm headed out for a run. It's inconvenient! The number of songs I'm able to store is about 100...I don't know why...maybe it's because I do the highest setting in Spotify? I don't know... The music sounds awesome BUT, I need more storage! I would GLADLY pay for more or an updated Mighty BUT that doesn't exist... Synch time to do new play lists takes FOREVER! This was acceptable in the 90's, but not today... I do love how portable this guy is and how easily it clips on to my running shorts...but I need more storage AND I hate the inconvenience of having to reconnect with Spotify every 2 weeks or so. Update 6/12/20 Order placed for HIDIZS AP80 PRO...arriving today... Update 7/5/2020 AP80 very nice/cool, BUT - just too heavy and slightly too big for running - returned AP80... Purchased Garmin Fenix 6 watch with 32GB of storage. Much easier to get things going... It's a little more of a hassle to switch between playlists, forward to next song, volume, etc. And, it doesn't sound quite as good as the Vibe. And, it was A LOT more money! I'm actually going to return the Garmin and stick with the Mighty... I will continue to use the Mighty... It's light and very quick/easy to use while running. Yeah, it takes A LOT of patience but for now, it does serve it's purpose. I can hope that they Mighty is working on a future version. I would LOVE to see more storage. I wouldn't mind a slightly larger unit if that could incorporate a touch screen... I'd gladly pay for a more premium product... Update 10/12/22 STILL using my Mighty. I couldn't live without it. All the one star reviews are from folks who may not understand the concept of having to control the Mighty AND a wireless headset from their phone. It's weird at first but a lot more devices coming out are like this. YES, you must sync up at least one playlist every 30 days for licensing reasons with Spotify. But my Mighty has seen sweat, rain and accidental dropping with no issues. I just wish that they'd make one with 16GB's or more.

LOVE this little guy! I was nervous to buy this after reading all the negative comments, but I have to say this has been a game changer for me. There is now persuasive evidence that holding your cell phone in your front pocket can have an adverse effect on guys' reproductive health (see the work of Dr. Andrew Huberman), and although I'm not 100% convinced about those findings, it's something I've been mindful of. More to the point: I listen to a ton of music, but I hate having my bulky-ass phone crammed into my pocket every time I hit the gym, go for a walk, do chores around the house, etc. Plus I'm constantly hitting the wrong part of my iPhone screen and accidentally turning on a flashlight/deleting all my apps/inadvertantly shooting a video, it's just such a nuisance. Enter the Mighty player! I grew up in the 80s, back when you could just pop your favorite Def Leppard cassette into your Sony walkman and wear out both sides- holla if you feel me. I've been wanting to get back to that kind of simplicity. I'm happy to say that Mighty might just be the answer! Pair it with the TOZO A3 2023 wireless earbuds (an unbelievable value at $20) and you're good to go! I was torn between 4 and 5 stars, and really I rate this 4.5 stars. It's not perfect, but I plan to get a lot of use out of this thing! So here's my quick & dirty rundown. PROS: -one you get it set up, it's an easy-to-use daily MP3 player -simple design and simple controls -the "home" button will toggle through your playlists, and pick up wherever you left off the last time you listened to that playlist -sound quality is impressive for such a small little machine. Maybe lacking in nuance, but it actually seems to go louder than the iPhone -the app was nowhere near as dicey as other reviewers have suggested; I'm thinking Mighty must have improved the app since those reviews -nice little clip on the back of the player will attach it to your tank-top strap, or wherever you want to wear it CONS: -main complaint is the price; $120 seems expensive for a tiny little hunk of plastic that still has some functionality issues (albeit minor ones IMO) -Bluetooth 'skips' occasionally, although I haven't found it to be a huge problem. I can be in a crowded gym with lots of other folks using Bluetooth earbuds, and maybe I'll get one or two split-seconds skips per song -it's so small I'm afraid it'll be VERY easy to lose :-/ -Bluetooth does seem to drain the battery pretty quickly (you might only get 2-3 hours per charge when using wireless earbuds). So plan to go wired if you're on a long flight or something -it does take a minute to power up, but honestly it's really only like 60 seconds and you're good to go If you can live with those few drawbacks, I think you'll find this thing a worthwhile purchase. I've been loving the feeling of shutting off my phone and leaving it in my gym bag while I grind through my workout, or taking a long walk with my dogs and leaving the phone at home. Definitely a great way to simplify your life!

Everyone is blown away that this nugget exists. No one buys mp3 files of music anymore and yes you should support artists/band you love and buy physical copies of music but it’s impractical, expensive and, impossible to amass a physical collection that rivals the ability of steaming. I’ve curated my Spotify for 8 years and if I had to give up all but one sliver of the internet it would be what I’d keep. Is it super easy to use? Not exactly, there’s a bit of a learning curve. Is it flawless? No: it’s new technology, it’s got some bugs and design issues. But it does something I didn’t know was possible and kept me sane during a difficult time in my life when I had to give up my phone. I bought my Mighty slightly over a year ago. I think they’ve made some technical improvements since then. I can’t say for certain being that I haven’t bought a new one but I stand by the $80 I spent on the early model. The Bluetooth isn’t great, the battery leaves a lot to be desired but I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

I have two kids who absolutely can't be in the car together. Every little sound that each one makes, drives the other one insane and we rarely even make it out of the driveway before they're hitting each other and throwing things at one another. I bought two of these in the hopes that having some ready-to-go headphones waiting in the car, without the need for an internet connection, or the ability to get drawn into other distractions like video games or youtube, would help them get along. And, I can say that, for the first time in over a year, we had a quiet and peaceful ride to school this morning. But it wasn't without it's frustrations in the lead-up. First, lets dispense with the small stuff. The thing is lighter than you expect and made out of weak plastic. I was expecting something more substantial feeling, like my wife's old iPod Nano (the little one that clipped onto your belt and was made of metal). But this feels like something that will be destroyed if you drop or it gets bumped wrong. Can't say it's happened, but just realize that the physical device feels cheap and flimsy, which is frustrating given the price. But my real complaint is about the app. There are definitely some quirks to getting the thing connected and syncing music to it. At first I thought I was going to have to return it, as I just couldn't get it to connect to bluetooth. Here's a hint, when the light flashes blue, you have to hit the "play" button on the device, and you have to do it quickly, or else you'll miss your chance. After about an hour of frustration, I finally was able to connect one of the units, and even sync a playlist of my daughter's favorite songs to it. I had piled up something like 150 songs, but it stopped at 120. I don't know if it ran out of room, or what, but after several attempts to finish the sync, I gave up. Quite frankly, 120 songs is more than enough for a 7 year old (my old mix-tapes had 20, if I was lucky). Getting the second one synced and connected was only marginally less frustrating, as it just didn't seem to want to do it. I rebooted my phone and then all of a sudden it worked. I selected fewer songs this time, and they transferred over with only one failed attempt (which at this point is feeling like a fantastic success). Another tip: create your dedicated playlist on Spotify for this device BEFORE you start trying to mess with it. That way, you can be ready to go when you pull it out of the box and try to sync it. Now, it turns off relatively easy...you just hold the play button for 5 seconds. My 9 year old figured it out quickly. 7 year old got super frustrated, but did eventually get it to turn off. I still haven't figured out how to turn it on. I just press and hold buttons over and over again until it starts playing, which it eventually does. There are NO written instructions for this thing whatsoever, and the app doesn't tell you much either. It's like they were trying to mimic Apple by keeping it simple, but unfortunately it doesn't "just work" like Apple, leading to a lot of head-scratching. All said, with about an hour or so of cumulative listening time between the two devices, I'd say they seem to be working as I'd hoped for my very limited use-case. Don't think you'll be updating your playlist in 30 seconds before you go for a run. This is more like the old MP3 CD that you spent a couple hours crafting and burning, and then popped into your discman and listened to the same music for weeks or months, just hitting the skip button until you found a song that matched your mood. Also, I from reading the reviews I understand you have to periodically connect it to wifi (which you do through your phone) in order to renew the song licenses. I can't wait until it's time to do that and it gets launched into the front seat by one of my pissed-off kids.

It's been a long, long time -- YEARSZZZzzzz -- since I actually sat and wrote an Amazon review. Such a pity, considering how much I tend to rely on others'. But I digress. This little gadget deeeefffffinitely compelled me to make one helluv an exception!!!! I have been searching for YEARSSZZZzzzzz for something JUST like this -- basically, an MP3 player-like device that would allow me to listen to not just music but SPECIFICALLY SPOTIFY'S MUSIC -- as I've been a huge Spotify junkie for years..no shame -- and WITHOUT relying on my cellphone or an otherwise Internet connection. Introduce Mighty. Egggfreakingzactly all tf I've been asking, hoping, and praying for!!!!! Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical in purchasing from some of the reviews that said it doesn't work and you still end up needing an Internet connection. For me, it has WORKED!!!!!! You only need an Internet connection for the initial setup (and I believe anytime you want to update your playlists from your Spotify account), and that is IT!!!! You're off to the races!!!!!!! So far since getting this thing, I've been on SEVERAL long walks without my phone and have still been able to jaaammm to my beloved Spotify!!!!!!! I use my favorite Bluetooth earphones with them, and the sound is *MUAH!!* FLAWLESS!!!!! I even was just still listening to it while walking around my apartment while the device relaxed on my kitchen counter tonight!! And still no issues with connection. Most DEFinitely one of the greatest purchases I've made on this site.. and I've made..a LOT... and over MANY years. This might be.. at least top 10, maybe even top 5. I love this thing overall. If I had to call out any possible negatives, it'd be that the thing is pretty damned small, so I'm almost positive I'm gonna lose or misplace it at some point. It isn't the most practical for keeping up with outside of when you're actively using or wearing it. It does have a little slit on the clip that I suspect is intended for a lanyard clip or something of that nature -- would've been nice if they'd provided something like that!! (Will have to double-check that they didn't.) But alas... We can't have it all, right? And I'm sure many find the smaller size much more convenient and helpful for its purpose -- basically just plays your music and gets outta your way. No distractions, like your much larger phone and other devices might be. Only other drawback is the limitation of the number of songs. I think it's somewhere around 1,000. I have literally over 100 playlists on Spotify, so it be nice to be able to bring in more of those lists with more songs. Buuutt I also understand 1,000 songs is...a lot. lol.. And I was able to get all of my most favored playlists -- I think somewhere around 10 -- up there and, from what I've been listening to do far, have barely tipped the iceberg of all the song options. So, overall, I'm not mad!! For what I've been needing for many years and what all this provides, I'll take those minor drawbacks any day. This device is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Huge kudos to the company that finally made it happen. <3 <3 <3 Marry me!!!!!

When I wrote support, they suggested some very convoluted Wi-Fi * Podcast experience is HORRIBLE * Returned to Amazon for refund We purchased these for our two kids, to have a screen less audio player for car trips & the like. Setup seemed like it was going to be straightforward, but I can tell you it was riddled with complexities and issues that I wouldn’t expect for a device priced this high in its field. The software/device refused to update the firmware. Support at Mighty suggested my internet might be the issue and to hotspot off my phone. It’s a chore to change the WiFi but we did this to no avail. Finally I gave up and figured we just wouldn’t stay up to date. Next issue, the podcasts can’t really be auto-updated for a simple-auto-updated experience. In stead, Mighty recommends treating each podcast as a playlist which means you’re going to be manually setting up each episode. Per their support when I asked: “ The Spotify software that Mighty leverages for content syncing and playback currently treats each podcast episode as an individual playlist. So to switch between podcasts, you'll have to press the small Playlist Selector button on your Mighty. Additionally, try not to sync the podcasts as a group or within a playlist, as that may cause some playback issues. Try to sync each podcast episode to your Mighty individually.” For a device priced 2-4x what shiny, color-screen, music players cost, I’m surprised that there is much market. It seems like Mighty is basing their pricing on the Apple Shuffle model; the Shuffle was 15+ years ago.

It looks great, like it will replace my beloved yet discontinued apple shuffle. Not much else out there that appears to compete. But it is just trouble, slow, not user friendly, I had to buy a Spotify prime membership to just listen to a podcast. No, just no. And after 30min+ of trying to set it up and to sync the podcasts via 2 different apps and connect to earphones and sign up to Spotify and who knows what else. I gave up and asked to return. No thanks, I’ll go for an Apple Watch.

Good device and sustainability. only down side is that it needs to activly refresh every two weeks or so and until you do you cannot use it
