Sunlong Chef's Knives 8 inch Gyuto - Japanese Damascus Steel - Natural Rose Wooden Handle

Love this knife for several reasons. It holds an edge like no knife I have ever used. It slices like no chef knife I have ever used.The negative part is it is heavy. VERY heavy. Surprised me how it feels in the hand. Sort of awkward a bit in the handle and one needs to have good hands to use it well. Arthritis doesn't make it easy to use.One issue I have is that I am a bit afraid to use a honer on it. I don't want to damage the razor sharp blade, though that is the point I guess. It cuts through meat like butter, but has slowed down the process as the sharpness have begun to fail. Not being sure how to protect the edge I have held off using the honer on it.

Great knife, does need regular sharpening contrary to reviews suggesting it stays sharp for a long time, but not to the extent of being a problem. Would recommend as in par with similarly priced Global knives.

Received as a gift. Nice enough looking knife but I’ve yet to use it properly. Please note though the knife IS NOT Japanese as the title would suggest. Package clearly marked Made in China.

Ce couteau de chef est vraiment magnifique !Il est livré dans un très joli écrin, je l'ai offert à un ami et il a été surpris et vraiment ravi.Le manche en bois est très bien fini, il est facile à prendre en main et ne glisse pas.La lame est hyper tranchante, un vrai couteau de chef ! L'acier est d'excellente qualité et la lame est magnifique.La longueur de 25 cm est très bien pour la cuisine, on peut couper viande, poissons ou légumes.Bref, ce couteau est vraiment magnifique, c'est un bel objet qui durera longtemps !

Le couteau est livré dans un coffret bien emballé. En plus du couteau, vous recevez une housse en cuir de protection et un chiffon. Personnellement, je trouve que le couteau est un peu lourd pour moi. Mis à part cela, il coupe très bien. Il est conseillé de laver le couteau à la main pour éviter qu'il ne s'oxyde. C'est un couteau très joli de bonne qualité. Je le recommande aux personnes qui cuisinent souvent. Ce couteau peut être un excellent cadeau à offrir, je le recommande .

Premetto che non sono un cultore di coltelleria, ma essendo un appassionato di BBQ ho qualche buon coltello... buono ma non a questi livelli!QUALITA':quelli bravi direbbero che ha un ottimo BILANCIAMENTO... dico che si tiene bene in mano, non bisogna assolutamente spingere per far si che tagli... basta il peso della lama ed affonda su tagli di carne come una lama calda nel burro.Ho tagliato fette di salame stagionato sottilissime senza la minima fatica... è imbarazzante da quanto taglia e si usa bene!!Per fare una prova l'ho passato sui peli del braccio... mi ha rasato a zero tipo lametta!ESTETICA:penso che le foto parlino da sole, bella la lavorazione, bellissimo ed ergonomico il manico, bello il terminale del manico in inox lucidato e inciso al laser.IMBALLO:La scatola in solido carbone coloro in argento, l'interno sagomato che alloggia il coltello e il panno per la pulizia fornito ne fanno un ottimo oggetto per un bellissimo e costoso regalo.E' indubbiamente caro ma penso che la fattura e la qualità di questo coltello giustifichino la spesa.Per me sono 5 stelle!

This knife lost its edge after 3 hours. I’m a line cook so it was nearly 3 hours of straight cutting, for the sake of transparency. I diced 2 quarts of shallots, sliced a quart of green onions and a quart of chives. After all that, I had to saw my way through a few tomatoes. I’ve never left an Amazon review before but this product inspired me to. That should tell you how profoundly disappointed I am. I immediately went back to my $10 kiwi knife I bought as a hold over until I could afford a new “nice” knife. I’ll be sticking to brand names from now on.

Scharf, schärfer, unglaublich. Und das für den Preis. Sehr gut ausbalanciert. Sehr hochwertig verarbeitet.
