I have been looking for an A4 size fly box for some time, This one was recommended by a friend. First impression is that it is well made for the price, the catches seem strong enough on first look. Time will no doubt tell. I particularly like that the foam that holds the flies can be cut if required and then stuck in place. Easy to fix and the self adhesive seems strong enough. I need a few more boxes but I'll see how this one goes before committing more of the same. Quick delivery from Amazon as usual.

1st off, 90% of the time I don't use boxes this size/style, but on the occasions I fish loch style competitions or just have a day afloat this size and style fits perfectly with my peli box set up. Normally I use the small tachy boxes for my light and mobile fishing but I needed the much larger capacity for boat days.Regarding this item, the size is excellent for me, plenty room for loads of flies, the depth of the box is also good, as they are deep enough that even bigger flies aren't getting squashed by the lid.The box is pretty sturdy, although quite flexible due to it being very light weight, I don't really envisage any dramas with that and I have no issues in that area, especially for the usage I want it for.There's plenty hook spaces, although with some flies (boobies mainly) you need to put 1 fly every 2 spaces, but that is the case with a lot of boxes tbh.The closure clips are easy to click in place for a secure closure, but they will possibly be a weak point on the box in the (hopefully) years of use. Maybe need a bit of care when opening/closing these as ripping them open in a hurry could cause them to weaken and eventually snap off.The foam insert actually comes unattached, you have to peel the backing and inset it, no dramas there, but I would be interested to know (I should do some research) if you can order replacements as I don't think the foam will last if I'm ripping flies in and out, although flies actually push into the slots really easily if taking careFinally, I bought a box off a retailer recently for quite a bit more money, it's 100% exactly the same box.Finally, I will be buying another 3 or 4 as for me they're spot on, longevity will be a wait and see, but at the price and the fact other retailers are selling the exact box I'm really happy with this product for my needs.

What was wanted

I needed a better system for organizing my flies, and these cases are perfect. You can see the flies easily so I know which case I'm grabbing (salt vs. freshwater). I like that I can slip these in the back pockets of my car seats so I can bring them on any trip just in case. I didn't stick the foam down (it's adhesive!) because I'm a beginner and I like to keep info on each fly in the back of the case so I have help choosing (see second photo). Yes, I'm a Postfly Box subscriber! Also highly recommended if you are looking to build up your library without having to spend hours at a fly shop asking questions.

Have a ton of saltwater flies for bonefish, permit, and tarpon. I have been looking for a while for a "system" type to house my flies at home and be able to pull from and fill smaller ones for trips. I was leaning for the C&F system. These are perfect and can buy dozens for the price of one C&F. Thin, clear, might have problems with big fat flies, but size 2's, and smaller fit fine. I am going to stack several in my office book shelves and load my travel box from them. I think I will also buy a couple more and actually take them to Andros next week. They should pack well in my roller board and fit in my boat bag.

I use them to store and organize streamer and nymph flies for at home storage, for which they are perfect. Thoroughly worth it and will purchase more as needed.
