KIDDE SAFETY 001844 Lock Magnet Key Case , Gray,Grey

I LOVED the fact that it has a lock (that was easy to set up); so even if someone were to find it, the key is still safe. Box is watertight, strongly magnetic, and comes with alternate self adhesive plate if you don't have a secure magnetic outdoor location. It's also completely watertight; unlike any other key hiders I've had. I love that there's a protective cover that slides over the lock that not only keeps out grime, but further makes it a mystery to open for anyone who should not have access to it. Very sturdy and well made.

Without using the adhesive backing that came with the product I love that it magnetically attaches to my mailbox. It’s small enough to be hidden, but sizable enough to keep a key. I do recommend attaching one key ring as it was difficult to pull the key out without one. Our box was used multiple times a day and held up nicely. Even after a few unnecessary drops there is a chip to the magnet, but not the body of the casing at all. I also love the sliding door to keep the numbers discreetly hidden. My only complaint is that if you accidentally reset the code on the wrong numbers it’s nearly impossible to get back into. It’s not the worst con because a backup unlocking mechanism means increased odds of accessing the key without the code.

This looks like a low cost and effective means of securely hiding a key; unfortunately, this did not fulfill its purpose. It's difficult to reset the locking code to one of your choosing; the interior is lined in foam, which seems like a good idea until you can't get the key out of the foam...and my fingers aren't big, I can't imagine someone with large fingers being able to use this. Yes, they say you can remove the foam, but it's glued in. Lastly, if you are able to overcome the above issues, the lid may become stuck in the open position and will not close. Ever. If you are persistent and try to troubleshoot this issue by struggling to set and rest the pass code over and over you will be rewarded with frustration and resignation that this is a lost cause and begin the return process.

This is what I was looking for and does the job. Is your want something super secure spend the money on something more durable cuz I'm sure if someone threw this or hit it with a hammer or brick it would definitely break. But if you're looking for something small, easy to program, easy to hide then this is it.

Works great. Sturdy construction and smooth operation. the instructions for setting your own code were very clear and easy to follow.

Perfect to keep a spare key in case you get locked out. It’s thin but the key slides right in and fits. Looks discreet and comes with a sticky backing

When I first got this case, I followed the instructions and could not get it open. I was using the factory code. I fiddled with it and this is how I got it open. I put "111" on the combination line. Then I could pull the box open a bit, but could not rotate it. I looked at a simple video and realized the box need to extend open more before it would rotate. I could not get it to do that until I then put "000" on the combination line. Then the pole extended and I could rotate it. Also initially I could not get the "Reset" tumbler to move. It did move the 90 degrees until after I put in the "111" on the combination line. And then remained on the combination line when I changed the code to "000", the factory default. I haven't tried to change the code yet. I hope my experience helps if you have the same problem that the box will not open with the factory default code when the box is first received.

I had one of these for a long time and with the new car I decided to buy a new one of these as well. Yes it is plastic and one could easily smash it and get the key out. For most modern cars, you can have a non-chipped steele key made that will only open the doors and will not start the car. So if you don't keep valuables in the car and are just looking for something in case you lock your keys, this will work with a steel key. I haven't seen any metal magnetic code-safe products so this is as good as it gets.

緊急時用に屋外に鍵を保管しておくために購入しました。最初は車載用のマグネット付きキーケースを検討したのですが、少しでも安心したくてロック式を探したところ、選択肢がこの商品しかありませんでした。ドアノブなどにワイヤーでかけておくタイプなら、選択肢はたくさんあるのですが。マグネット付きかつロック式のキーケースって意外とないものですね。 ロックが壊れたと報告している人が国内外に少なからずいて不安でしたが、今のところ問題なく機能しています。モデル番号が複数あり、値段が異なっていることがありますが、販売国などによって異なるだけで、中身は同一と思われます。 切れ込みの入ったスポンジが中に充填されており、通常はそこに鍵を差し込んで収納するのですが、スポンジを外せば容積を広げられるようなので、大きめの鍵でも入るはずです。 私は鉄製設備に直接取り付けましたが、3Mの粘着テープ付きスチールプレートが同梱されているので、鉄製以外の場所にも本商品セットだけで取り付け可能だと思います。

Het is een handig formaat maar gemaakt van puur plastic dus niet echt braak bestendig en voor die prijs had ik toch wel wat steviger verwacht. Maar verder doet het wat het doen moet, heeft een sterke magneet plet kleefbaar plaatje en sluit netjes af.
