G-Shock by Casio Men's Standard Digital GMW-B5000-D1 Watch Silver

This product arrived late. Don't care. It's very clearly a Chinese or other type of product, meaning there are no English in the paperwork that comes with it. So what. I love it. Heavy, not too big. Great. Thank you. Think of it like you would if you bought a cheap blu ray on eBay but one with only Chinese cover. The audio (watch face) is English but manual not.

I collect Casio watches so i am a little biased but of all casios on sale this one offers the most bang for your buck. Casios can be had for as little as £30 up to 3 or 4 grand, they all do a job but every now and again they hit the sweet spot and this is it in my opinion. It has all the retro styling but crammed with everything that modern technology has to offer. Solar, Bluetooth perpetual calendar multi band when you look at what you get its actually a bargain. It doesnt really have a drawback, if you want to really splash out they do a titanium version but that’s about 1300 quid but that really is special. I own 8 casios all brilliant in their own way but if i was being marooned on a desert island this would be the watch i would wear. 400 quid for a watch that is never wrong and never needs a replacement battery.

Honestly, this is an incredible watch. It looks way more expensive that it actually is, it's a g-shock so it's bomb proof, it's incredibly accurate, packed full of features and the battery lasts forever with tough solar. At any price point, this is the perfect watch.

I am in the process of returning this as its a joke. The photo of the watch on a wrist must have been taken on a child in a suit to deliberately mislead. World's tiniest g shock, maybe OK for a small woman but certainly not a mans gshock.

The watch is good quality,but the band has sharp edges which can damage one's clothing I had to use a fine stone to remove the sharp edges,which I should not have had to do on a watch costing over $700,also I had to contact Casio in Japan to get instructions in English(originals were all in Japanese) Regards Dan Gardner

I purchased this watch in 2020 and it still looks and works great. I purchased my first black plastic square G-Shock in 1985 that got me through high school and college. Always been a fan of square G-shocks but I wanted to get away from black plastic digital watches. This watch fits the bill perfectly. However, it’s a blessing and a curse. You can wear this watch at work or play. However, it is very shiny so scratches show up easily and overall this watch is a scratch magnet. I recommend that you purchase polishing cloths to help polish the fine scratches out. As far as the top of the bezel, in the course of my five year ownership, I have removed the bezel twice to restore the brushed finish on top. Just used a fine scotchbrite pad to do this with the bezel face down. Looks new after I do this. Other than being a scratch magnet, the watch is tough and beautiful. Being solar and having Bluetooth is an added bonus. No regrets with my purchase.

I love this watch. But only a handful of people would pay almost $400 for a digital watch. I love the screen. It is easier to read from many more angles than something like me Casio G-Shock GW-5000U-1JF. So yes, that is a big part of why I bought it. The bracelet is very good quality. It feels like I am wearing an expensive watch, not a cheap digital watch made out of resin. I like that it has Bluetooth so I can sync up the exact time every day. Does it do much more than a G-Shock 5610? No, not really. Is it worth spending so much? Yes, for a Casio geek like me. Is it a watch to buy to show off? No, because few people will know that you spent so much. It is a watch that looks really cool and that only you and some other watch geeks will appreciate.

Dear Casio, This is my first GShock that’s all digital with a metal bracelet. I ordered it less than a week ago and received it on July 4th which was a nice surprise. This is NOT my first GShock but my first GShock that has a metal band, digital, and with radio receptors. My previous gshocks were not this nice. I am able to sync my watch with my iPhone 13Pro and it also can sync with radio frequency’s so it’s always got the correct time and I never have to worry about it. The fact that this watch is solar powered is awesome. This is my second Gshock that is solar powered. This means I never have to worry about it running low on battery although the battery powered ones have lasted me years without replacing the battery. I have a mud master that has a compass and it could measure your footsteps but that’s ok. Watches like this one isn’t meant to be used for that. This watch can be dressed up or down. I plan on wearing this watch for just about everything. I am used to using Analog watches. Every watch I have, Movado and Bulova are all analog watches. My gshocks are all digital and analog. This is the first all digital watch that I have and it took a little to get used to but it’s a great watch. I have been wanting a GShock watch like this for a long time but the prices were always too high for me. I received several Amazon Gift cards from my job totaling $160 and I used it to buy this watch and I am so glad that I did. Outside of my Goodyear welted heritage boots from Grant Stone this is one of the best investments I have ever made. My other GShock that is solar powered was bought back in 2016 and it’s still working well and hasn’t missed a beat. I wanted a watch that could go with a suit and tie or can be dressed down. My other gshocks all have a rubber band which will not look right if I wear a dress shirt and a tie. The watch face is a bit on the smaller side compared to my other gshocks and it is quite heavy but it is very comfortable to wear all day every day. One really cool feature this watch has is that you can connect to your iPhone so if you ever misplace your iPhone you can activate a button on this watch and it will play a sound in the phone loudly so you can find it if you’re in the same area or room. Haven’t tested the range of the “phone finder” but it is super loud for the most part. The one thing that I don’t really like about the watch is that the metal band is super shiny like chrome and I can tell it will scratch easily. It’s ok though because it’s like patina on leather boots. Scratches on gshocks are like a badge of honor to me. I do like keeping my stuff in pristine shape so I did buy a glass screen protector and installed it on the display so the screen will never get scratched. I do this with almost every watch that I have except for my other gshocks. I work from home now A days so I’m not going to be hard on the watch but I want to make sure it’s protected in the event I have to do something rough. I am confident this watch will last me a few decades which makes this watch a worthy investment. To me, this square metal gshock style will always be “in style” so I don’t have to worry about replacing it for whatever reason. This will be my everyday watch as it can do just about everything a watch needs to do. Thanks in advance! Edit: I’ve had this watch a few days and it’s awesome. I really think I did a good job in picking this watch. It is everything you could ever need from a watch. I was never a big fan of the square watch face but I am a fan now. I haven’t worn it dressed up but I don’t see why I couldn’t wear a suit or tie and this watch. It has all the functionality that I need. It’s got solar, multi-band 6 (which means I’m always on time), bluetooth, and a positive display. It’s got all the features I need except for a compass, heart rate monitor, and a step counter which would be nice to have but I understand this watch isn’t made to have them. It took me a while to get used to reading the watch because I’m used to analog/digital watches but I’m getting the hang of it. I was not a big fan of the square but I’m starting to love it each and every day. If you’re listening Casio, please put a compass, heart rate monitor, and step counter in this type of watch. It would make this watch a force to be reckoned with! I just love this watch and already looking for my next metal gshock.
