Champion runs true to size - If you are a big XL a 2X would be fine but if you like a honest snug fit. Stick with the XL.

Q: My 10 year old son wears an XL in kids. What size adult shirt does he need?

For me my son went right from boys xl to a men's medium. But he is also tall. Hope that helps.
