Frosting On The Beater

Dramatically Expanded Edition Of Their Best Album.
Remastering: This may be the most subtle remaster I've ever heard. If it was a 1990 16/44 digital recording, that would explain why. I consider the remaster a SLIGHT upgrade from the original. Slightly more detail & a slightly larger sense of openness. Exact same subjective volume level & exact same objective DR level. There is very little remastering info provided. A sticker simply says "Remastered"; the back of the package says, "reissue produced by the Posies & Cheryl Pawelski". If it was a 1990 16/44 digital recording, short of a remix, there isn't much more they could have done. If it was analogue, I'd consider the remastering a minor disappointment.Remastering Edit: I am hearing more of a positive difference on the quieter songs than on the louder ones. The vocals are smoother sounding than on the original.Bonus trax: 16 of the bonus trax were previously released. I had all of them except 1; & oddly 2 bonus trax from this period were left off of this set; so I "get to" keep the Flavor Of the Month (This One's Taken Demo is left off the Omni) & Dream All Day (Open Ever Window Demo was left off) ep's for 1 song each. 13 tracks are from the box set, which I have. There are 17 tracks here that are new for me. I wish they had put the 2 above mentioned demos on here so I could get rid of the 2 ep'sOther than drunk live shows, I've never heard a Posies release I totally didn't like, so getting 17 new alternates & a slightly improved remaster for $16+ with tax was a good purchase. (I expect to enjoy the 17 new alternate trax)The only negative thing I would say at this point is if you don't care about the new trax, & if you already have the original, you don't need this.Conversely, if you are a fan & don't have the box set & the Euro CD EP/Singles; this is a great package of one of their best albums.

defective disc
I'm a fan of the music, but I received a defective disc. It gets 'stuck' and endlessly repeats a moment near the end of the first song Dream All Day.
