Imo, a really nice canister filter. Doesnt make noise or fuss. Damn easy to setup and get running out of the box. The top has the In and Out pipes through which the water rotates. Water runs down the sides and starts its journey all the way from the bottom through 3 compartments. First compartments at the bottom has a fat sponge, to catch large/medium debris, and a filter floss cartridge containing activated carbon sitting on top of the sponge for the finer debris and chemical absorption. Then the center and top compartments have chalk based cylinder shaped bio media but I removed some from the topmost compartments and mixed a bottle of SeaChem Matrix bio media. Hoping to provide for more aerobic bacteria as well as a small chance for some anaerobic bacteria to setup *fingers crossed*. The pipes provided were more than enough for me because I just needed small sections as I have placed it right behind at the base of the tank. Hang on back clips are also provided but I chose not to hang it on my 4mm glass as it does have a decent weight to it. Besides it looks better with plain glass edges. The suction cups are also good quality and holds up really well even when force is applied to it. Other random parts are provided but I haven't needed to use those so can't comment on that. Its really simple, just set and forget. Hands down an awesome canister filter at a good price point.
