What type of tabbed dividers would fit without bunching out?

Has anyone found dividers to fit the binder?

I need something that I can put in a fleet of cars to track mileage. I have used regular binders however the extreme temp changes cause the plastic to become brittle and they end up falling apart within a year of so. How durable is this product?

How do I take the clear piece off the spine? I've tried pushing and pulling with no success and am afraid I'm going to break it.
