Wonderful convenience
I have owned this product for the last few weeks. I absolutely love it. I was skeptical at first due to the size of the DS screen. I have read four novels and am on my fifth at the time of this review and I have to say that this is the perfect item for me. It's easier to read that I thought. The pages flow by rather quickly. I also like being able to rate my book. I have a life style that has plenty of time to read, and also just 10 minutes here and there. Having this in my purse,or pocket, has been extremely invaluable. I can't stand boredom. I have shown it to several of my friends and acquaintances and they have all agreed, upon inspection, to approve the product. Well done to whoever came up with this idea. One flaw(mine) - I have to remember to charge my batteries!

Bookworms rejoice!
What a wonderful addition to my DS library! 100 well-chosen classic titles (which I won't list, as they have been listed in a previous review.) in a very user friendly interface. The font in the large setting is very comfortable- even though, consequently, page turning is frequent. There are 3 permanent bookmarks available per book, so you may read several titles at once, and one "temporary" bookmark with which the software keeps track of the last page/title you viewed. It also presents a brief synopsis of each title, and gives you a little "About the author" section too. You may have the software recommend you a title after it has given you a short quiz, and after each book you read it will ask you to rate that title. This should be a long-lasting favorite of mine. So many books, so little time!

Reading Classics Better For Older Readers
The 100 Classic Books is a DS cartridge containing 100 classics, many of which are not offered in schools and / or read by young adults today. It contains books of various reading abilities, some of which are truly a challenge! I wonder, however, at the appeal of this DS for kids. My daughter LOVES to read and couldn't wait to begin reading a book on this DS cartridge. However, she's realizing that many of the books are either too difficult or set within a time period that she is not interested in. It really depends on the individual reader, I guess, but it may appeal more to an adult audience versus a young adult with a voracious reading appetite.

Books for the DSi
Hi -this game chip is great if you have a child who loves to read. My daughter has been at it since the moment I handed it over to her. However, the book selection is a bit uptight. There are many, many classic stories which are wonderful. However, it would have been better if they had consulted a librarian to help with the selection. There are many well written kids books that would have made this much more inviting for kids. I highly recommend it. I gave it as a gift and my friend smirked at it stating that none of the books were going to interest her daughter, but much to our surprise her 9 yr old daughter read Jane Eyre the minute we gave it to her.

Love 100 Classic Books for the DS
Just received this yesterday. For just $20 you get a lot of bang for your buck. At first, I was worried that the font might be too small, since I have a DS Lite. Ends up that even the smaller font was easy to read. You can also trade up to a larger font. A book like The Wizard of Oz takes over 700 pages (small pages) to read on the DS Lite, to give you an idea of size. I have also already downloaded an additional title, although, I must admit, I had to get my husband to plug in all the wireless info (IP address, SID, etc.) before it would work. The only issue I have, and others have mentioned it, is that you can only bookmark one book at a time. I do hope that in the future Nintendo creates a version where you can bookmark multiple books. If you want to keep track of what page you are on manually--little slip of paper tucked into your DS case--you can read more than one selection, of course. For me, page turning is easier if I just push the arrow key below the screen. You can also flip using the stylus. Either way is fine, but you can really flip through quickly with the arrow keys. I really am glad I stumbled across this product. I love that I can read anywhere I am, as long as I pack my DS Lite in my purse. If you love the classics, or want to start reading them, this is a great product. THe best part is that you save space on your bookshelf for your contemporary novels. War and Peace alone would take up the space of several mysteries. Now, it fits in a cartridge the size of a postage stamp. With all the titles that are public domain, Nintendo could easily come out with more books for its DS line. I'll be eagerly waiting.

Portable DS 100 Classic Books? YES!
If you like to read a lot and have mobility issues so you can't just walk down to the (not so close by) public library to get books, much less carry them home, and if you're on a limited income so you can't afford one of those new-fangled phones, laptops, or electronic gadgets that need expensive monthly internet wi-fi connections to down load the books that are available for free on line, this Nintendo DS 100 classic books is what you need. Just buy a used 100 Classic Books DS cartridge on Amazon for a great low price and a used DS and your are set. It's easy to use, inexpensive and takes up very limited space. You'll be owning 100 full version books that you can keep in your pocket, purse, backpack or dorm. You can take it with you when you are at doctor's appointments, on the unemployment line, or waiting for that late over crowded fare hiking joyous form of public transportation that may or may not be available in your area. The 100 classic books will provide lot's of entertainment with all types of genres in an easy to use format. From Alice in Wonderland to Heart of Darkness you'll find all types of books to suit you taste in literature. You can also play games on the DS if that's your thing.

Not worth it.
I like the idea of this, but realistically, it's so impractical and difficult to use the tiny ds screen as an ebook reader that the "game" ends up being a waste of money.

No case.
So there's no case despite the pictures clearly showing a case. That's a huge disappointment right off the get go. If no case should be listed as such. Nice selection of books though. If you want to do a return you need a printer. Lovley. All in all honesty very dissapointed.
