These truly are Italian cards, it's just that this region of Italy uses the French Suits. Each city/region has its own traditional pattern, and some regions actually use the suits of Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades. This product is the real deal, but I wish the product listing showed pictures of the cards so customers wouldn't be caught off guard. In summary, these are bona fide Italian playing cards, they just don't have the Italian suits.

My wife and I love these cards. Being of Tuscan descent myself these cards are a great way to connect with my heritage and to have fun - Scopa is a great Italian game! Modiano is a great company and these cards are very high quality and they feature the "standard" French suits that we are used to playing with (clubs, hearts, diamonds, spades) while some of the other Italian Regional decks feature different suits (swords, coins, clubs)

Arrived in good condition, but the version in the image is the large brown edition and the version I got is the standard-sized anniversary edition. Still, a good deck of cards.

They are compleatly wrong a real Mess. One of the worst products I have seen on Amazon

People claiming these aren’t Italian cards are mistaken. Different regions of Italy traditionally used different types of cards. These are used in northern Italy. The cards that have suits such as cups, coins, clubs, and ships are typically southern Italian regional cards. Try the Neapolitan or Sicilian decks. One star reviews of this product aren’t true.

Major nostalgia from these beautiful Tuscan Modianos. If you grew up playing briscola with the spinsters next door in Firenze like I did, these will bring back warm memories. The Jack of Diamonds is as dashing as ever.

The cards are American styled card deck but with an Italian cover.
